My runner up is, any of the Christmas Carol/Scourge movies.  what I get from the story is that, you must conform to what the majority wants and believes.

But when the 'protagonist' is a mean and cranky old bastard, conformity is heart-warming.....  :ange:
Now, if you haven't seen The Muppet Christmas Carol, then you haven't seen it.  Light the lamp, not the rat.

As for the Christmas movies I hate, A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life are both at the top of the list.  They surpass all reasonable expectations of epic crappitude.
I do confess to liking the Rudolph and Frosty specials, tho.  Kitsch factor, I guess.

Jim Carey's version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  That movie ruined on of my favorite holiday stories for me, thanks to Carey's horrific acting.  Give me the animated version with Boris Karloff any day.

YES!

Also the animated version not only followed the Dr. Seuss story more closely, but also had input from him.  And yes, I will take Boris Karloff's sensual voice over Jim Carey's horrific acting any day.

Santa Claus conquerors the Martians has it hands down.  it's a horrible film and deserves it's place on the worst movies list.

WHAT???  You don't like A Christmas Story??  That movie is hilarious!  That and The Ref with Denis Leary are my two favorites!

As for most hated, (and I'll probably get a similar reaction I gave here) is that Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer stop-animation movie they have to play every year since 1960 or whenever they made that abomination.  I think it's on again this weekend actually.  Also that Frosty the Snowman stop-animation one is horrible too. Not sure why but, but I completely despise those two.

I can live with Rudolf, but I have to take a two or three year break from Frosty. That whole "Happy Birthday!" shit gives me nightmares.

Every year with Christmas Eve dinner, Randall and I drop in the Grinch in the DVD player. Wonderful show. :)

Actually, I believe it's a copy of the MST3K version (which definitely is an improvement on the original).

I too own this. It is one of my required Christmas viewings. Which, among many other holiday movies -- I grew up with too many of these not to have a long list of required viewings -- includes that seasonal favorite, Con Air.

I'm having trouble finding the Christmas in Lethal Weapon

A channel advertised a Christmas Movie Marathon and had all four Lethal Weapon movies playing in a row... Its not a Christmas movie... Is it?

On topic again. I dislike Olive the Other Reindeer, but thats about it :)

Hey, I once had a movie marathon of Planet of the Apes for Christmas!  Talk about the total non-relatedness ......

Personally, I hate anything that's got the sappy "and that's the meaning of CHRISTMAS and why we should all blow smoke up our asses for world peace!" messages.  It just doesn't work and it makes me want to bite things.

I'd recommend NOT biting the video. DVD's are hard and they shatter :P The sappy in Christmas movies is rather ridiculous though I will admit. I like cheesey more then sappy.

We only watch 2 xmas shows around here - I'm partial to the animated original Grinch (because I like the Grinch and his music - but then my favorite disney character is Maleficent (anyone with such good minions and who can call on all the powers of hell gets my vote)), and the SO always wants to watch Scrooged with Bill Murray.  We have both on DVD and play them right around xmas - not more than a day or 2 before at most!  Neither of us can stomach any of the others.

I have to admit, I've never been a fan of the Scrooge incarnations. However, Scrooged with Bill Murray is outstanding!

That movie about the kid who wants a BB gun for Christmas. (Whatever its title is.) I've never seen the whole thing, just bits and pieces inadvertently. But it just doesn't do anything for me. (Although the continuing three-day marathons of Elf irritate me, as well. Which is another fairly recent Christmas movie I've not seen.)

I sincerely dislike A Christmas Story and Elf as well.

I'm not into 80's or early 90's movies in general.
