Flowers in our gardens.

What is in bloom in our gardens right now?

It might be interesting to compare.

I mention my nasturtia, for a start.

They will die with the first frost.

Which will be either this November - or in December.

Nothing here. First frost here was about a week ago.

*eyes out the window* unless you're talking about someone building flower-sculptures out of the snow, I'd say we've still got some time before flowers ....

We've had the first breath of spring here, and both beds of irises have started growing incredibly quickly. No flowers yes, but the leaves are a good two handspans tall.

Official food-garden planting hasn't started yet, given that we're still well within the window for another snowfall (or just a cold snap, which is a bit more likely), but we're already seeing some activity out of the onion bed, as well as taking the time to get the rest of the garden area ready.
All knowledge is worth having.
It doesn't stop being magic just because you know how it works.

Same here. Though my potted lime is putting out several sets of new leaves, does that count?

The basil and cacti are blooming right now, oddly enough.
There's a few flowers on the tomatoes, which is weird seeing as the plant only just finished ripening the last harvest.

Some Vinca Minor blue flowers growing near a sunny brick wall. Early flowering.

As it happens, the orchid I have been growing from scratch (after it budded from my mom's plant) is about to bloom for the first time. I am full of sqee.

Congrats Sefiru, orchids are so temperamental, I just don't bother. Roses are about as temperamental as I get, and since I like the strong scented ones, I generally end up with fussier ones as opposed to the hardier ones that get along quite well in the region where I live.

Right now, my few herbs are holding up well with the exception of my basil which is definitely a goner, but the rosemary, thyme, and parsley are holding up. Now that I am settled into my new home, been about 6 months, I am looking forward to really planning and plotting for spring.
