If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

What's your favorite Pagan holiday or festival, and why?

Samhain is the first pagan holiday I celebrated, even before I knew, let alone admitted, I was pagan. It was the dumb supper my stepmother put on that kicked everything into gear, I'm sure.

I also love Yule. The soft light and closeness with people are just as strong as Christmas used to be. There's something very special to me about the longest night of the year, especially if we're up in Yorkshire and get snow.

I'm looking forward to next Imbolc, to see what has changed in my perception of it, since the bond I formed with Brighid over this spring.

For the sake of getting things rolling in this subforum, here's a real easy one:

What's your favorite Pagan holiday or festival, and why?

Samhain/All Hallow's Eve/All Saint's Day/All Souls' Day/Celtic New Year (October 31)
Yule/Alban Arthuan/Winter Solstice/Christmas (December 21)
Imbolc/Candlemas (February 1)
Ostara/Alban Eiler/Spring (Vernal) Equinox/Easter (March 21)

I love any Autumn or Winter holidays!

el Dia de los Muertos, all the way.

Ooh!  When I set up the altar in my new apartment, I'm so leaving out something nice for my Santa Muerte icon.

I have two:

Beltaine - because it's usually the same weekend as my birthday.

Samhain - because it's the last breath of autumn before winter comes in.
You can also find my ramblings at my blog although I\'m not the best at regular updates.  I\'m working on fixing that. Or look for me on FB here or Google+ here. :)

That's a beautiful way of putting it, and 100% to the point of why its such an amazing holiday. =)

Technically, I haven't celebrated any pagan holidays yet; I haven't quite figured out what holidays to even celebrate! However, I'm leaning more and more towards the Wheel of the Year, even if just to start with.

I do mentally observe the Solstices, but my very favorite is Samhain/Holloween. Its a very spiritual night for me. Doesn't hurt that I honor/worship Persephone too.

The only holiday I've celebrated (technically) is the Winter Solstice. Which does me  just fine as a favourite seeing as I adore winter. The colder and snowier the better really. :D

The Day of Chewing Onions for Bast is high up on my list. Not that I'm so passionate about onions; I just get a kick out of the idea that this is a real holiday. Aset Luminous is probably the most beautiful of the ones I celebrate. But the most meaningful for me is Bast Guards the Two Lands, which takes place in late December, around Christmas time. Because while one manifestation of the Eye of Ra has departed into the south, Bast is the Eye of Ra who stays, the light of love and hope in the darkness. I spend it contemplating light, and darkness, and the power of the Eye.

Two for me - autumn equinox because that was when my partner and I had our handfasting, and that was such a perfect and special day <3 and Beltane, because I just love spring/summer and at that time of year I feel so full of life and... well, burgeoning :D:  I love autumn as well, and Samhain, but I don't like winter that much (nothing against the season per se, and I have lots of really happy and cosy memories of winter, but I think I might have mild SAD so it is not the easiest time for me on a personal level).

Even before I was Pagan I always loved Halloween. I always liked that the veil is supposed to be thinner then. I always hoped I would see an old relative trying to trick or treat with me (when I was younger of course)

For me there is a lot of celebrating of the Catholic holidays and esbats and equinoxes and solstices, not necessarily the Pagan version of such. However, I would definitely have to say I enjoy the period of Advent when the Light is coming to Earth. And having an Advent wreath is really beautiful.

I also enjoy All Saint's Day and the feast days of my patron Saints.

I've always been terribly fond of Mabon, but from Lammas to Samhain I'm a happy girl. Harvest festivals are my thing apparently :)

Dia de los Muertos, because it has a serious, melancholy side...but the tequila softens the blow.  Tied for second are the Solstices, because the return of the sun and the height of the sun are big deals in my climate.

Samhain :lub: I love the associations and it's the best time to commune with Hel, my patron goddess. I also love the fact that Halloween is popular as a commercial holiday because even though of course it's sad that pre Judeo Christian culture in my country has been reduced to some plastic skeletons and whatnot, the supplies on offer are excellent. I mean, awesome masks aside, the seasonal scrapbook stuff and Halloween themed editorials in magazines are great for my books, and what better time of year to buy black candles?
