So if you’re trying to stay up till dawn, or just want to pop in to converse with those of us who are, this is the place! (Or if you're lucky enough to be in the Southern Hemisphere, enjoying the warmth and sun of summer solstice, tell us what we're missing!)

Hey guys! I'm just popping in from Aussie to say hi. It's almost midnight here and I've decided to spend my last minutes on earth watching funny YouTube videos. May as well end the universe with a laugh.

Just kidding. I have no excuse for watching so many YouTube videos.

Hope you all enjoy the coming solstice and holidays.

Oh and:

Literal LOL!  Not that I've never seen it, just that its application here is so very appropriate.

------------------

I'm not sure how my UAN participation is going to go.  I've been just letting my body do what it wants, sleep/wake-wise (and am definitely less stressed/depressed as a result, which was the point), and have already been up since about 2130 MST.  I may try for a nap in the afternoon, though I've never been good at naps; my body says either, "It's not sleep time yet," and doesn't, or it says, "Oh, it's sleep time now?  Okay, if you say so," and I'm out for several hours.

So I guess I'm around when I'm around, and not when I'm not, and if I manage to stay up for a good chunk of UAN but not until local sunrise, it's a win.

Glad to give reason for a legit LoL. :D:

OK, folks - the countdown starts.
Sunset is officially on 15:53 h.

Now it's 3:04 - less than an hour.

Sky's just as clouded as last year, I'll try to take a pic later, but I don't think there will be much to be seen.

Sunset's at 3.50 here. I must go and do a house blessing, offerings to the fae, and a quick walk to look for holly before the sun goes down. Happy Alban Arthuan, all!

Tana, as always, thanks for being our trusty vanguard!
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Same here. I had planned to stay up night, but after the events of this past week, I don't think I'm going to make till sunrise.

It's 16:49, it is definitely dark outside, with a clear almost-halfmoon. Icy cold, -5C.

I'm considering staying up - for the first time in years I'm not going to work either the night of the solstice (and being exhausted) or the day after (and being in dire need of sleep). On the other hand, guests are coming tomorrow who might not appreciate me being asleep all day. We will see.

Thanks for the photo! It makes the solstice in another part of the world feel more real.

The sky looks just like NYC's today, though here the clouds are starting to break up a bit.

South Carolina at 11am is brightly sunny with high COLD winds. I'll probably be up most of the night but since I don't have a home computer, I won't be on the boards tonight.

Well, dark now. Inky-blue-black. It'll be bit darker yet.
My husband and I start our 'art frenzy' (= use as much of all the stashed away craft and art supplies as possible.)

Pictures will follow.
