I'm calling it a night.

Have a good one! I'm in the lucky position of not working tomorrow. Going through some oracle cards and came across the wren and reminded me of a great tune for this time of year -

Once a symbol of wisdom, then a symbol for sacrifice.

The Chieftains have an awesome version but link did not work. It is to the right of this video though.

My body is hating me at the moment because it feels as though it will fall asleep at any moment only to perk back up again.

Should we start (or copy one from vigils past) on tips for staying up?

Because I think I'm about to need some. :/

May brain isn't working well enough to create them anew. I vote for cut and paste from previous years!

(I know fresh, cold air was one tip--and I'm using it right now, with windows wide open.)

DON'T READ! I just tried to read a few stories from the NY Times, and I couldn't process more than a few sentences, and my lids were lowering fast. I switched to the TV.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

I might be able to open a window. It's unseasonably warm here. Like.. minus single digits. I'm actually freaked out right now because there is very little snow on the ground, and it's nearly Christmas. :S

Your Welcome! I love that line too!

I just had something really cool happen - As mentioned above I have some animal oracle cards and thought I would get them out. When I got serious about it (I get into the artwork and meanings just by looking at them) I drew the bear, a card I have never drew before. It has direct meaning to the winter solstice. I explored a bit on the internet and wanted to share the link of the bear and the winter solstice as the link comes through King Arthur.

http://arthurianknightsride.blogspot.com/2009/04/artois-artus-arthur-bear-god.html

The link to the solstice is under "Celts and two Goddesses"

I will hike to a place I think is sacred after the sun comes up (will post pics) and may incorporate some of this.

Thanks Brina, I really enjoyed that.

There's actually a Sufjan Stevens song called "The Winter Solstice", but it's not one of my favorites.  That one is.  As is this:

One of the few rockin' riff tunes from one of my favorite (Christian...no, seriously) musicians.

I spent most of the evening (when I wasn't on the f-ing freeway) plying yarn.  So I guess I've had my meditation for the evening.

Just over 4 hours to go.

I have the overwhelming desire to play WoW.

I don't know why.

2-ish hours here. One and a half. Something like that.

It's a quarter to three (or thereabouts).  I'm pondering a long, candlelit bath and a pot of tea to kill another hour.  I'm really glad it's clear out.  I only have to wait until there's the faintest light in the sky before I pass out...

Damn, that sounds nice. It looks like it's completely clouded over here, so it might be another hour before I could see some good light. :(

I've got about an hour to go. Then I'm going to take a nap until The Boy comes home from his mom's.

About an hour left here as well. Thank the gods Buffy is here to see me through (and a good ep, too: "Hush").
