It's well and truly daytime by now, although, in honoured British tradition, the sun is nowhere to be seen. Too cloudy and grey and blargh.

I ended up not having to go in this morning. Normally I'd grumble at having to be up before dawn for nothing, but this time I got the chance to check in with you again, so not all that bad. Plus, early bird present shopping, before it gets too crowded.

Dare I admit that after all these years, I finally tried the infamous Chocolate Mug Cake for the first time? Quick and easy, and not bad; I swapped in an extra tablespoon of cocoa (Valrhona, no less) instead of that third tablespoon of sugar, and it came out pretty well.

 
I haven't yet got around to trying it myself - I don't have all that much of a sweet tooth, so I'm very likely to want something savory to eat rather than something sweet. But your adaptation (kitchen-tested!) might well tempt me, if not tonight, then next year (or later this winter), because I do have a 'chocolate tooth'.

I always remember, because it's not quite a year younger than the Cauldron Cill, which is about to have its tenth anniversary (and I'm Hawke's informant). But, here, have a confirmation in the form of the very first UAN thread, on the archive forum.

I passed out sometime after 5:40 this morning after getting some writing done on my tablet. And I was a good muffin and backed it all up to my desktop. Hardcopies will get printed later today and added to the binder for that project. Why yes, I am paranoid about losing yet another project to the freaky technology failures that repeatedly crop up whenever I am involved.

I think I will close my solstice day by spending some time cleaning up my little magical office/workroom. Assuming my back will allow it.
