Yeah, if there's one time when chat is busy, it's UAN.

I forgot another stay-awake strategy:

4. Eat! If I'm chewing, I can't fall asleep. Also, elaborate food preparation keeps the hands busy, which keeps the mind awake.

Yes, that. Cooking is good, eating is good.

Also, if anyone has a friend who's willing to tough it out with them, invite them over or something. It's easy to keep awake when your friend is flicking your ear! :D:

I expect to be working, so I can log on occasionally through my padd.
I already work all night.

Yay! Another one going the distance
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

But not someone you're gonna get sexual with! Because after the sex comes the sleep. At least for us guys, anyway.

Sex on the solstice might invoke some strong mojo, though...so if you do plan to tap into that by "tapping that," just be sure to do it early enough in the night that it's unlikely to knock you out.

Which raises an interesting (if rather risqué and personal) question:
Has anyone ever timed their orgasm to the moment of solstice? (I imagine that's a little easier to do if one is taking care of oneself, as opposed to going at it with [a] partner)

That doesn´t sound like a bad challenge, honestly!

All the same, I´ll be on as well.

This year's non-theme is "Peace."

*snip*

(Thanks, Merin!)

Sure. :)  In fact, the Paris attacks were what sparked the idea.  And then all of the other attacks happened too.  I think it would be awesome if all of us just focused on making peace happen in our own lives - and hopefully that will make a ripple effect.

I will, unfortunately, not be able to participate until the wee hours.  My partner is taking his EMT exam that day and I am volunteering to be a patient.  So, I'll try to post a few things before hand and afterward.

I'm pretty sure I can hang out for at least most of the night. It would be fun to play Cards Against Humanity again-- anyone interested?

This sounds like a fantastic idea.

Except I don't have the cards! *cries*

Am I allowed to make up my own?

Less than two weeks until our cyberparty, with our "non-theme" of Peace!

So as the night approaches, it's time we begin a crucial discussion: How do you stay up all night? What are your strategies for staying awake?

Drink plenty of water. Cold!

Snacking. I've found that if I know I have a series of snacks planned, I tend to stay awake. Especially if they're snacks I like.

Keeping busy. Playing DDO will keep me awake for quite a while. More so if guild-mates invite me to do a raid or a quest chain. Writing. Listening to music helps. I plan to do a little drawing as well, and practice my guitar (well, that'll have to be for early on - Mom needs her sleep). Whatever keeps you busy and focused enough that you don't overdo it and fall asleep anyway.
I love a good metallurgical take on the phrase "What the F---?"
