Basically, the only way my family's equinox celebrations differ from Easter is an effort to plant some seeds that day.  I'm looking for any ideas, personal or for family, to make this a more seasonal and nature-centric, and therefore more meaningful to me, holiday.

Being a poor college student, I plan on boiling a few eggs the night before so I can eat them, then celebrating the evening with some homemade barenjager (liquor with honey = flowers = spring, why not?).

And having homemade scones. With more eggs. And non-alcoholic honey.

On eggs, I always thought eggs were symbols of potential; they're not necessarily tied to the seasons. They're blank and white, like an empty canvas (and most cultures dye/paint their eggs), and eggs are tied to the idea of growth in particular. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket," "nest-egg money," "don't count your chickens before they hatch" are all tied into the symbolism of the egg as growth.

On hiatus, but might pop in now and then. Just making it official.

My blog. 40% normal, 60% spiritual, 500% details.

Yes, it's a bit early, but I am a planner!  Much like the 'Imbolc' thread, I'm wondering how those of you who celebrate the vernal equinox go about it.

I still haven't nailed down the details of what I'll be doing on the equinox, but it'll probably involve dyeing eggs with vegetable dyes, and eating the innards (scrambled, of course). I might bake something, and I'll probably open up all the windows and doors for a while to air the house out while I do the big spring clean. I don't usually do too much for equinoxes.
