It's one of my evenings to work, so no ritually stuff just yet. I had hoped to do some house cleaning this morning before work, and didn't manage that, but took tomorrow off which will be one part cleaning, one part cooking, and one part ritual in the evening. We'll see how that goes.

And if you're dressing up, what are you wearing?

I'm on my way to a party at a local bar as a Victorian-esque White Lady. Ya know, the hitchhiker who can never go home. I'm kinda half basing it off that one early episode of Supernatural.

I got to spend a little time with my 5 month old nephew in his dinosaur costume before he fell asleep.:)  Now I am in my lab coat as I also have to work tonight.  At least I brought candy!  Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween/Samhain!

No costumes this year unfortunately and no trick or treaters around here. I'm doing my Samhain ritual tomorrow.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he\'ll be a mile away, and barefoot.

I kicked off the evening with my traditional Halloween music, Saint-Saens' "Danse Macabre" and tried to feel the presence of my lost loved ones (another one added in the last few months, sorry to say). Then I went cultural, playing my favorite spooky soundtracks to set the mood:

Theme to Dark Shadows
Main title to The Fury (John Williams)
The Omen
"Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" from Twilight Zone: The Movie
(these last 2 by Jerry Goldsmith)

...and then, hooking up with friends for the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade! If you've never done downtown Manhattan for Halloween, it's everything Halloween is supposed to be: creative, transgressive, shocking, amusing, trickstery, wicked, otherworldly, weird...FABULOUS. Not kidstuff; grownups testing out new personas for one crazy night. It's kind of becoming NYC's Mardi Gras.

The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Thank you! I did not dress up because I had to work and we're not allowed to add anything major to our uniform - not even hats. I did, however, wear my skull earrings that I made myself.
