Happy 150th Canada Day!

Keep the fires of a fair and free North America burning bright for another 150 years, neighbors to the north!

Somebody has to.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Thank you! We'll certainly try!

Did someone say...

CANADA DAY?

Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, Canada and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith

Our inheritance, extending from ocean to ocean, has come to us from the Canadians who were the makers of Canada...

The Right Honourable
William Lyon Mackenzie King
OM CMG PC

Canada's greatest son

~~~
The Fathers of Confederation
I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.
There's a land where the mountains are nameless
And the rivers all run God knows where;
There are lives that are erring and aimless,
And deaths that just hang by a hair;
There are hardships that nobody reckons;
There are valleys unpeopled and still;
There's a land—oh, it beckons and beckons,
And I want to go back—and I will.
Uh, yeah, all that. Or more simply, this:
He. Must. Bear. My. Children.
Hush, you. It's not nice to remind the Canadians that they're saddled with Justin Trudeau. Especially on Canada Day.
If I felt 'saddled with' Justin Trudeau, I wouldn't consistently say, 'He's ours, you can't have him,' to Altair.
He. Must. Bear. My. Children.
This I'm okay with, provided you a) ensure you have his enthusiastic consent, and b) let him stay in Canada. Not only do I like him fine just where he is, in the PMO, but we've got better/more accessible prenatal health care up here.
What I wouldn't give to know what sweet Francophone nothings they whispered into each other's ears during their recent bromantic flower garden stroll...
EM: "Je t'aime"
JT: "Moi aussi. Mais Altair...?"
EM: "Nous sommes trois ensembles."
JT: "Formidable!"
(Or something very similar, I'm sure)
I was just thinking this has to happen, and you're saying it already did?!
Important: did they have their shirts on?
