Which arrived over half an hour ago, but I was too busy chatting in Discord (and attempting to catch up on this thread) to say so at the time. It's clear here this year, so the sun is painfully bright.

And it arrived here an hour ago, and I was out of the house down at the local park to do a small ritual and take some pictures!

Eastern sky after sunrise. Ah, beautiful, bright Vancouver.

View along the Fraser River.

That's a bay leaf floating in the Fraser River, very slowly inching its way to the ocean. I was thinking I'd do the more traditional set it on fire route, but uh. Park is busy at 8 am! This works better anyway.

And a Solstice Selfie! Because why not.
Pray drunk. Hex sober.

Here's an idea: I can try live-streaming a part of my visit to the museum via Facebook, if anyone wants to see what I'm seeing. Though usually I post to my FB page with the privacy set to "Friends", I'll post this livestream from the RMA as "Public", so if you go to my personal FB page (https://www.facebook.com/christian.cooper1), you should be able to see it.

That was very cool! (Ifwhen I visit NYC, I figure you'll take me around as many museums as your schedule will allow.)

I see that you still have a friend request pending from me (you'll recognize me from the sunflowers in my cover photo) - I don't mind if you decline it, but I think I sent it a couple of years ago, so this is a reminder to you to do something with it.

OH! I didn't realize that was you! (You may have flagged me to it, but it promptly went out of my head, leaving me wondering, "Um, who is this person who wants me to friend them?")

I will take care of that pronto.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Night's not over here!

But I think now it is, pretty much everywhere there's a Cauldronite! So I'm going to officially close our Up All Night festivities for 2018--though I'm sure folks will still post lingering reactions in this thread.

Many thanks to everyone who participated, whether for a moment or the long haul, whether in the forums or in chat (SO much easier with Discord)! It really is a joy to see our community come together each year, and it sure as hell helps with staying awake during the long journey through the dark. Special thanks to Eastling for adding another welcome new wrinkle to our festivities, with the great idea of the divination in the Oracles of the New Year thread; let's see that become annual, like the Great Global Group Meditation. Also thanks to TheGreenWizard, who helped me out at key moments with the G3M2 and the Facebook livestream.

But most of all, thanks to our hosts, Randall and Lyric, for giving us a home, not just for Up All Night on the December solstice, but all year long.

Tradition demands I have one more duty to perform:

A SOLSTICE ADDENDUM

The sun has raised its shining head
Get your sorry ass to bed!

It's a little belated, but here's a full moon pic I took on the 22nd (through the treetops).
