My local public library just made an amazing variety of free online courses available to library cardholders.  It might be worthwhile to check in your own area to see if something similar is available, in addition to this resource.

A real good resource for free online courses is www.coursera.org

I did a few Biology courses with them for free a couple of years ago- Physiology, Neurobiology, Pharmacy. All from leading Universities (Duke, University of Chicago, UC San Diego).

Anyway, it is a good resource.
