To answer your question, it's done by hand.  Our staff is just that snarky when it comes to SPAM.

Remember, Sveta - we encourage the trimming of quotes here.  You can just leave the title of the recipe in your quote, or leave it empty.  (if you erase the entire content, make sure the opening and closing code of the quote are on separate lines so it will still show the linkback.

Your test went otherwise fine, but the opening and closing quote tags need to be on separate lines (that is, hit enter between them), so the quote actually shows.

The opening bracket with the word QUOTE and the closing bracket with the slash and the word QUOTE were on two lines, and when I look at my post above it doesn't show any text, just the quoted individual's name, and clicking it takes you to the quoted post...

Did I misunderstand? (wouldn't be the first time for that!)

Edit: just had a thought - I'm on my phone, maybe it didn't work correctly because of that. My internet is down right at the moment; I'll have a look see on my laptop after it comes back.

It might be your phone, as your test post came out without any quote visible, as the quote tags were on the same line in the post code.

It must be ~ my service provider is apparently playing the "how long can we keep the internet down" game so I haven't been able to look.. But I'm guessing that's the thing. I'll skip trying to make erased ones on my phone LOL

If you have problems with returns disappearing, you can replace the text with "...." without the quotes, of course. With that, it should be okay on one line.

That was actually the effect I was talking about.  Fausta fixed it by moving the opening and closing quotes to different line, which didn't appear to work when you did it I may not have been completely clear) but an empty quote box was the outcome I meant.  Clicking my name still goes back to my post - that is the linkback I mentioned, so people can follow the conversation back if they get confused.

aha! I've got it figured out now ~ and I saw what others saw, the empty space. For some reason it functions differently on my phone - will keep that in mind for future phone posts!
