Drained/purged feeling--I'm eating WAY less than normal.
« on: June 03, 2012, 05:35:20 pm »
I'm not really sure if this should go here or in Spirituality, but on the 31st, I realized that all the crap I've been going through is the result of ten/twelve years of repression, and after the relief settled in because I FINALLY HAVE AN ANSWER to all my questions, I've been feeling really drained. Like, my head feels like it got a hole punched in it and everything literally drained out.

I'm also not eating very much. It's not that food suddenly makes me nauseous or anything, I'm just eating WAY less than I usually do--normally I have a really high metabolism and so I can't go more than a few hours without eating. Someone on my Facebook group said I went through a "purge"; another just said it was a major life shift, and both mentioned that this was normal.

I get the feeling that this will really only get better with time, but is there anything health/diet-wise that I should pay attention to? I feel better after eating fruit, especially berries for some reason.

And on a spiritual note: When I finally saw the Morrigan's face on the 31st, I asked her "So, did I do a good job?" But she just started chuckling and wouldn't answer me. Sometimes when I'm less drained, I can still hear her laughing, and it has that "Well, THIS part's over" feeling. I'm concerned, but not in a bad way. If that makes sense.
On hiatus, but might pop in now and then. Just making it official.

My blog. 40% normal, 60% spiritual, 500% details.

Berries in general are good sources of antioxidants--blueberries and strawberries especially so. Makes sense to me that your body might be wanting them.

Interesting. Anything of note about raspberries and blackberries? Because it's not just the physical "I need detoxing" thing; berries have all been confirmed to be awesome (except blueberries since I can't stand them), but raspberries and blackberries in particular give me this "soothing" or "recharging" feeling on a mental front as well.

I'd say this could also be a good sign.  Look at it this way: whatever it was/is you held back was there anyways if it's an emotional thing.  When I have moved through something that I was previously unable to process, I felt the same as you just described.

Definitely watch your diet and take in food that's more healthy for you and avoid junky stuff, even if it's a craving.  If this continues for much long through it might be worth a Dr checkup, but it's quite possible you just let a lot of stuff go too.  I don't know the specifics of your situation, but this might be a good thing.  Especially if you are feeling better overall.

Your in box is full. It worries me that you aren't eating now. I suppose that everyone is different, but generally when I am though something, that's when my appetite comes back.

Raspberries have multiple benefits especially for women. Google 'em. They are also said to aid in weight loss, so if you already aren't eating, probably keep an eye on that.

I think if a food that is healthy and isn't hurting you makes you feel good, then GOOD!

I am glad for you. You have much courage and creativity. Awesome for any point in a life. Good on you and hugs too.

A tiny note about having fun: After going through some things, it can be a healthy thing to allow yourself some plain, no pressure, sillyass fun. YMMV. Some folks don't do well with fun. :)

Right now the general feeling is that "god, I'm WAY too tired to eat right now" instead of "Can't eat because [insert really troubling reason]." And my appetite's starting to get back to normal portions, so don't worry.

This would explain why Mom's been going "You've been losing so much weight! What have you been doing?" ever since the berry season started. And even without the emotional-comfort vibe I've been getting from them, raspberries are pretty much my favorite.

I noticed that raspberries and blackberries are not only very healthy, they both have magical properties dealing with protection and healing. Raspberries are also pretty strongly tied to love... And divination or prophecy.

But considering how my LAST batch of "visions" make me think I was crazy, I'm just taking this with a grain of salt.
