Some Celtic Recon Books
« on: September 03, 2019, 10:58:45 pm »
I saw another thread where several Celtic Recon Books were mentioned. I misplaced the thread, so no link here. I did write down the book titles and authors, so I thought that I would post them here as a reference. I have not yet read these books as of this writing, so I can not recommend them one way or another. The books are:

Celtic Flame by Aedh Rua

A Circle Of Stones by Erynn Rowan Laurie

The Apple Branch by Alexi Kondratiev

Where The Hawthorn Grows by Morgan Daimler

Before we spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel, let me get in touch with Finn, who compiled the original Hazel & Oak resource list, and see if they still have the list in some form.

If not, I have an extensive personal library of relevant books.  I'd be happy to try to rebuild a list, but I won't be able to do that until after September 20, because of "real life" stuff happening.

In the meantime, here's a resource dump to keep you busy:

Celtic Recon FAQ reading list: http://www.paganachd.com/faq/readinglist.html.  The rest of the FAQ might also be helpful.

Tairis: http://www.tairis.co.uk/, resource list:   http://www.tairis.co.uk/resources/

And this list of resources about Brighid might be useful:  https://clannbhride.org/articles-and-essays/clann-bhride-resource-list/.  It lists numerous resources that include info on Brighid, but are not specific to Her.

This online book, Land, Sea and Sky http://homepage.eircom.net/~shae/index.htm, includes a reading list: http://homepage.eircom.net/~shae/app23.htm.  A bit dated, so doesn't include more recent things.

ADF's book list:  https://www.adf.org/publications/books/index.html,  and articles list:  https://www.adf.org/articles/index.html.  Also somewhat dated.

OBOD's articles list:  https://druidry.org/library

A few specific authors to look for (off the top of my head; there are others):

Ian Corrigan:  https://intothemound.blogspot.com/

Morgan Daimler:  https://lairbhan.blogspot.com/, bibliography listed down the right side of the screen

Erynn Rowan Laurie:  https://seanet.com/~inisglas/, note the tabs for articles, publications, and resources

Lora O'Brien:  https://loraobrien.ie/

Of course, check their facebook pages, too.

One other thing:  Check out Academia.edu, an extensive database that includes many, many papers relevant to Celtic recon topics.

Thanks for the links and info, Aster. The link to the data base that is pinned at the top of this SIG forum doesn't go anywhere. I was hoping that someone might still have the data base info somewhere. Do take your time, but it is much appreciated. I will review the links that you posted.

No problem.  I'm sorry the H&O link is broken.  I've emailed Finn to see if we can resurrect that list.  If we can, it won't include the most recent publications, but maybe we can add those later.

Hopefully, the links above will keep you busy for a while.  ;-)
