* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

I believe Djehuty has been trying to get my attention lately, I've been seeing Ibis's, references to him and he's also been on my mind a lot. Has anybody had any experience with him? What is his personality like? Does anybody have any ideas on how to approach him?

Djhwty is one of the gods i follow. I find him very patient, sometimes infuriatingly so. He likes to teach, but the lessons can come at a cost, though the lessons you learn are worth it.
He is a scribe, god of learning, writing, knowledge, history and magic amongst other things. He takes an interest in you if you write or are seriously interested in learning new things.

I, personally, quite like him around, i find him reassuring, peaceful and his lessons can be entertaining too.

You may see him with one or more goddesses too, i normally see him with Bast.

I agree He loves to teach but He also encourages you to strike out on tangents and discover new things outside of His teachings. He will help you with projects if you ask for example I was having a problem with my dissertation at uni a few years ago and asked Him for help, I went to the uni's library and a book fell on my head off the top shelf in the Earth Sciences section I was passing through. As it was the book contents provided the information I needed for my dissertation so I blame Him for that (I also had a nasty bruise on my head as well because the book was an A3 Hardback of 600 pages).

I dedicate all pens and pencils to him that I use in my work and studies and I dedicate notebooks to Seshat before I use them.

Thanks for that. Do you have or know of any good prayers I can use to contact him?

Oops, sorry for the delay in responding, life happened:-).

I don't use any particular spells or  prayers to contact him, but he responds well to writing and just talking to him. You would probably feel him looking over your shoulder if he is interested in you. Don't be disheartened if it takes a while though, he is notoriously patient, I think that, in itself, is a lesson.

Dan.

Edited for correcting "particular"

I always found Him to be very curious and interested in learning. He also encourages me to write. He's also something of a trickster, and likes games. Perhaps writing a hymn or prayer for Him as an offering might be one way to get His attention. He's very fond of words and ideas.

I don't work very closely with Thoth, but I've noticed that he hangs around in the background. He largely seems to like to use me to influence someone else I know. Usually, this is done through art, so there is that.

Most people consider Thoth to be some wise old sagely guy, but I think it bears repeating that he is a trickster deity, and he can be a jerk. He's certainly not above manipulating someone to get what he wants out of them.

If you want to reach out to a Thoth devotee, I recommend hitting Satdeshret from Tumblr up. Desh has seen Thoth at probably his best and his worse, and Desh is very good at leveling with ya over some of his more ... difficult components.

For information on him, I recommend reading here and here.

I would always advise working slowly when approaching any deity for the first time. Be sure that you're comfortable with them and that they aren't going to throw you under a bus as soon as you're done signing a contract with them. Take your time nad don't let them rush you. It's the best way not to get your rear handed to you :3

*is nodding in agreement*

I worked with Dejhuty briefly--at first it was great, but I ended up getting His nasty side (long story short, He tried to trick me into oathing myself to Anpu.  I repeatedly stated that I wasn't ready; when He wouldn't take "no" for an answer, I called on Anpu, Ausir and Set for backup, and kicked Him out of my personal practice).  I'd recommend taking it slowly, but that's with any new Deity.

He's awesome to His people, but know that He can be a jerk as well.  I've seen more people get His good side, though.
