* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

I hadn't considered the motor aspect. Since trains move under their own power rather than wind or muscle, I guess that gives them a sense of being alive themselves. And for a long time, they were the only motor vehicles around (I'm not sure, but I think steamships came later).

I have a lot of UPG concerning motor vehicles and spirit, being OS and all. It's the stuff of a different thread, though.

That reminds me of Vancouver's Seabus (basically a passenger ferry). I'ts a catamaran, so the interior is square-ish and has long rows of seats. It looks more like a bus station than a bus, it was weird.

That sounds very similar to the ferries in Seattle. Probably the whole Salish Sea has similar boats being used, now that I think of it.

Steamboats were contemporary with (and even before) railroads; Robert Fulton's Clermont began operation in 1807 while the first true common carrier railroad, the Stockton & Darlington in England, didn't get started until 1821. However, it was several more decades before ocean-going steamships became practical...inefficient early machinery took a LOT of coal...while railroads were (of necessity) mechanized from the very beginning (I know about the horse-drawn tramways, yes; I'm thinking common carrier railroads). So your impressions are valid, although the details may be a bit in flux.
