* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Hindu Pantheon
« on: October 24, 2012, 04:57:57 am »
Does anyone have any experience working with Hindu deities? I did a guided meditation a few months ago and met Saraswati who has since become my patron goddess. Any resources? So far things have been casual and I've not had any issues with it but I would like to learn more. I've been doing some reading like Shakti Mantras, the Goddess in India, etc.

Thankies

I've recently (a few months ago) have had Shiva come to help me in a few areas.  What I did was find a site with japa malas (hindu prayer beads) and found a couple chants and malas to help connect with him.  I don't know if you'd want to try that out or not (maybe make your own set of beads if you can't afford to buy a set).  It's this connection that's confirmed to me that, yes, I need to get back into yoga and meditation for stress.

You could also look into a few hindu sites to learn more about Saraswati.  The things that Saraswati want you to know will jump out at you.  It would be a basis for your relationship if nothing else.

A few! I'm away from my small library at home, but I went through a few classes on Hinduism and South Asian religions, as well as visiting India this past May and getting to see some Saraswati worship up close. :) I'll try to remember to answer some of your questions with my personal experiences + info from my textbooks before too long. In the meantime, do you have any more specific questions you'd like to know about Saraswati or her worship? Are you interested in Hinduism in general?

I can nudge you in the direction of Shaktism, one of the most popular forms of devotional Hinduism. Shaktism is focused on Shakta, or the feminine divine principle - the Goddess (Mahadevi) in all her forms.
Maker, though the darkness comes upon me,
I shall embrace the light. I shall weather the storm.
I shall endure.
What you have created, no one can tear asunder.

My guess would be Shaktism more than anything. I'm very interested in Goddess worship and connecting with a part of myself that I've ignored completely for years.

Hello Zephie,

I was once looking in to something called ShaktiWicca. Below is a link to an attempt at IndoPaganism, a merging of Hindu and Wiccan practice and understanding. If you click the link at the bottom of the page to go to the ShaktiWicca link, it is no longer up and so will not work. But look around at the links at the top of the page. There are LOTS of great articles there ;-). Good luck.

So I've been doing my reading and I'm really noticing a balance that I need. So I'm doing some research on Lord Ganesha now too as well as Saraswati. Gonna be some interesting times ahead indeed.

Lord Ganesha is a good place to start. He is the gatekeeper of the Hindu Pantheon and all hindu cults honor Ganesha before honoring their specific deity. Below is a great book that can be read online at the link below to learn more about Ganesha.

Thanks for the info. I've favorited it. Also Lakshmi is contacting me as it were. Couldn't ask for a better thing right now.
