Deity: a little help please?

Hi! I'm new here, and to paganism, and am trying to find my dieties. Now, if anyone knows a Great way to find them, I'm all ears, really. But mainly I'm having a small problem.

Recently, I have been noticing Hawks, just sitting in trees near me. Now, where I live has plenty of Hawks, so it wasn't weird at all, until I saw two in the same position in the same week. A sign? Or Hawks sitting in trees? Besides, what deity?

And recently I sat in brief meditation and asked a deity to contact me if they wanted to form a relationship and to help guide me if they so wished. I only saw black, but I felt the energy increase, definatly. And at one point, I tried concentrating on an ankh to meditate, so...then that night, I had a weird dream...it was pretty normal until I saw three webs. They were extremely large webs, and two humongous spiders were on them. They had a red abdomen, pure ruby red. The rest of the spiders were black. They were about as large as a closed fist. But I didn't feel scared. The last web had a tiny, house peanut sized brown spider. Again, this was strange and just felt off from the rest of the dream, and I just thought it was a sign. The rest of the dream was pretty normal, consisting of twins and being a child, just sorta hanging out with them and being very childlike. I dunno, it was a dream.

So really, I guess my question is...are these signs? Does anyone have a clue who it might be? Or more than one? Or, really, how can I contact a deity, or get into a relationship with one?
