Well Brae doesn't really mean much on it's own....

It does in English, especially Scots dialect.

If it was being used in that sense (which, dreams being what they are, it might not be), that suggests looking at Scottish deities.  Or possibly northern English ones.  (Figures in folklore that aren't necessarily identified as deities should probably also be included.)

Is there a relationship between Brighid and the word the OP heard in the dream, "brae"?  Any ideas about the specific phrasing: "I am of the brae"?

(I don't have any solid reason for asking.  Just following a hunch...)

Good hunch, interestingly there is! Some sources give Brighid's name as Brigh, which is Old Irish for 'hill.' We also know the Brigantes resided in the Pennine Hills, and their off-shoots that settled in Ireland resided in the Blackstairs mountains, which isn't far from Wicklow's Bray/Bré on the Wexford side.
