Deities and their presence in "real life"
« on: March 03, 2013, 03:31:14 pm »
The title may be confusing, so let me explain. I'm fairly new to all this; I've worshipped only Aphrodite, and not regularly. But that's another story. Anyway, I've read about this wolf God on tumblr, who I never heard of before, and is a guide of someone I'm following. That person was talking about Him on tumblr, and many others asked about Him and wanted to know more so she made a page and shared some facts and stuff. I asked her if I can worship Him like any other deity, and she said yes. She also told me that His favourite offering is black tea, because He's British. So I made a cup of black tea, and offered it to Him. Nothing special, I just let Him know that He can have it and I went in my room, totally forgetting about it. After about an hour, I went in the living room and I noticed that there was a mark on the spoon that I put in the cup for this reason. I kind of freaked out, because I wasn't expecting this to happen. I was hoping for it, but didn't expect it.
Here's what I'm talking about: http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae270/feng_xin_zi/IMAG0629_zpseb124ad1.jpg
You can clearly see that the depth of the tea had gone down. For me, it was the first time that a deity had made their presence so clearly.
So, my question is, have you experienced anything similar?

Not to be a dick, but you know liquids evaporate, yeah?

But hey, if it was a sign you needed, then it works for you. Deity presence can certainly be seen in natural phenomena. Honestly, I think everyone can only rely on what they feel when it comes to such matters.

Oh yes, you're right. I thought about that too, but it never happened with tea before. My mother makes her tea in the evening and drinks it after more than 5 hours, but it's still there. But maybe it's just that, and I'm being silly. :p And it happened to other people too, who left out tea for Him.
I feel a little bad now, for being excited and stuff but it can be something so simple.

I don't think wolves usually drink tea, even in Britain.

Don't feel silly, as you are entitled to your perceptions and experiences, and even if there was a rational explanation, that doesn't mean your feeling was wrong. When I first started following certain deities, a lot of weird things happened to me that probably wouldn't have appeared out of the ordinary to someone outside the situation. It's all in your perception, no one else can really say if your experiences are valid or not.

He's not a wolf all the time, he can shapeshift. He's a victorian guy who walks around in a suit, wearing gloves and such. Oh well, we will see. I still feel silly, though.
I was all "yay finally shit just got real" and now I'm more like http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae270/feng_xin_zi/gifs/tumblr_lkm64fs9fx1qasqbl.gif. :p
Thanks for the advice though.

Ah, mine tends to leave nice rings on stuff if I forget about it, that's the only reason I brought it up.

You shouldn't feel bad! You know, there's this exercise some people do where you take a walk and interpret every single thing you see as an omen or sign from the spirits. That doesn't mean everything actually is, but it's a way to shift consciousness. So maybe that's what this is, the start of your mind shifting to perceive more spiritual or magical connections in everyday life.
