If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

I think it would depend on the circumstances... I mean, there's plenty of stories about Thor's adventures that would be hard to tell without bringing Loki in. :)

Oh, I didn't just mean, like, using the lessons in the sagas, I meant more specific ritual. If I needed Thor's boon, I figured he'd think it rude if I started inviting Loki in. Whereas, say, I think it's appropriate to pour out a libation for Loki while honoring Odin. That sort of thing.

I wouldn't try bringing Loki into, say, Thor worship - I suspect that wouldn't go over as well. :D

Since they tend to travel together, I once asked Thor and Loki to keep an eye on us during a long roadtrip.

Things got pretty harried along the way, including the car almost getting towed and all kinds of other BS, but in the end we got where we were going in one piece.

Not sure if I would do it again, but it turned out okay. XD

Question time:
Has any of you been in a similar situation?
How do you decide which god to worship?
What factors did/would you take into account?

Why do you have to choose? For me, Loki and Odin rotate in and out. If Loki is around, Odin is gone and vice versa.

I personally don't bother much with the god who's gone.

I think it was their way of teaching me something. As I said before, I chose Odin, but Loki still comes for coffee every now and then.

I think I can identify with you to a degree.  I can only speak to my impressions working with Kemeticism here.  The difference for me is the willingness of the gods to share.

For me it was working with Anubis, and he lead me to Set.  I was very apprehensive about working with Set, but when I opened up and let it happen, I felt I had found my path (which I had not settled on for my entire life) and that this was perfect.  So I started working with him more and more but every now and again I get pulled to work with another god for a short while.  A few months back I did get some sense that Horus wanted to work with me occasionally.  And in our faith there is more than a little bit of animosity between Set and Horus.

One of the people I do rituals with, who introduced me to Kemeticism, made a very good point to me that in polytheistic religions people worked with all the gods, they may have an affinity for one in particular, but that doesn't mean that you had to work with only one god forever.  The mythology associated with certain gods may show that there is a hostile relationship with other gods, but that doesn't mean working with other gods if off limits.

For me, opening myself up to Set required a bit of a leap of faith.  I was very worried about this being a huge mistake, so I asked Anubis, and every other being I've ever tried to work with, to be with me.  I immediately got the sense that everything was okay and that this was right for me.  Afterwards I was so glad I did open up to Set, the energy I got was very intense but very accepting, I felt as if I belonged to him, not in servant type relationship, but more of a feeling that I was always meant for him.

You mentioned you thought Odin brought Loki to you.  Seems like that relationship was good for you.  Even though Odin and Loki have their differences, that may not extend to you and your practices.  I guess what I'm getting at is: are you sure they are unwilling to share?  I guess if I had to make a choice, the factors I put take into account are: who was there for me when I needed them most?  Do you honestly prefer one over the other?  What path do you want for yourself in this life and which god is willing to help you?  Love and any relationship is a two way street.  Both sides have to give and take at times.  What do you want for yourself?

It sucks if you have to choose one at the expense of another, it seems to me like picking if you love your Dad or Mom more, which is a crappy choice for some.

Don't know if that helps, but good luck with whatever you end up doing.

I finally found someone with a similar situation :) Thoth claimed me a long time ago. Loki recently swooped in after I have been ducking away from Set. Thoth feels I need the polarity, Set is Laughing his Arse off nudging Loki. Thoth is smiling at me gently with that "You should have known" look and this all started with Thoth breaking my Pc. Apparently I was on it too much. Hence my IPhone. It works perfectly when I am researching about Loki.
