A friend with goddess energy
« on: May 09, 2018, 11:01:22 am »
Hi! This is literally for a friend I'm trying to help. She's a wonderful lady and she's been seeking lately, trying to figure out which goddess (or goddesses) is/are in her life. But, oddly enough, anyone trying to get a reading from her finds that the goddess energy, if you will, seems to be her own, as if she were the goddess.

I've heard that some goddesses work that way, sort of sharing their energy with those whose attention they are trying to get, but I don't have any goddess experience myself, so I'm not sure which ones or really how to proceed.

She's had dreams with images of brooms. I've seen misty white ladies around her and every time I mention a goddess that is linked heavily to nature or trees she responds quite strongly. She's very new to this, so she's having a bit of trouble sorting it out and, like I said, this weird sense that she's the goddess herself is a bit baffling to me, too. I'm a Druid and Lokean, so, while I might have  some ways of offering her guidance, I just fall short in the goddess department.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Mountain Cat - had your friend tried asking the goddess?

Hmm.  My spiritual perspective is so much my own I am unsure if this is helpful, but I may as well suggest it.

In my own path I introspect, and in knowing myself, I come to know God.  I have my own twist on that, but John Calvin thought similarly if I read his Institutes correctly.

Might your friend start a deep process of introspection?  Journaling, meditating, therapy even, and so on.  It may be that she will discover a goddess in really getting to know herself.

Did she try divination with any Goddess oracle? It can be helpful to at least know in which direction to look. I use Doreen Virtue's Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards.

This is kind of an old thread, so I don't know if responses are still useful, but the first thing that comes to mind is the anime Kami-chu.  That, of course, is fiction and comedy to boot, but from what I have read, something of the sort is considered possible in Eastern traditions.

Of course, the problem with that is it could be pretty dangerous to get carried away that kind of notion and I think even if literally true is something that would need a fair amount of training to actually harness.  So I would actually second Eclectic Wheel's suggestion of deep introspection and meditation.  Maybe Tai Chi?

Holda and Berchta are associated the White Women. They are also heavily tied to Elves.
