My unrelated addition: I can identify nearly any of the original Star Trek episodes within the first minute.

Forgot to ask what your favorite episode is!

Same! Almost there with TNG and Voyager.

Related fact: I am trying to learn Klingon.

So am I, more or less. I wrote a Star Trek comic book series for Marvel back when they had the Trek license from Paramount, many moons ago, and I realized we could sell the same issue twice by doing a Klingon language edition and then publishing it translated into English 2 weeks later. I didn't do the Klingon translation, but i picked up a few things along the way. And I invented the Klingon word for "bitch", as in derogatory slang for a female humanoid. A dubious claim to fame.

(Years later, a different comics company would have the Trek license, publish an issue entirely in Klingon, and say it was the first time it was ever done. LIES!)

Additional fact, in a new direction: I enjoy a glass of red wine with my meal.

The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

So do I (though it disrupts my sleep if I do too often). I was down at the liquor store yesterday to grab a few bottles. The best wine I ever had was at a party with my cousins ... and I drank most of the bottle, and was too sloshed to remember/take a picture of the label. :(

Fact: I collect card games (especially Munchkin expansions). Even though I'm too introverted to have anyone to play them with.

I don't collect card games now, but I used to collect cards for one game in particular--Magic: the Gathering. I really got into it for the first two or three years after it came out, and had a finely tuned white weenie deck and an awesome bird deck (once I played Island Sanctuary, my opponent was done for).

FACT: I avoid mushrooms.

Because I grew up in an era when it seemed cans of Campbell's mushroom soup were constantly being recalled...because the consistency and flavor do nothing for me...because I vividly recall an episode of something or other (The Outer Limits?) where a kid grows mushrooms in his basement, and anybody who eats them ends up possessed by Martians...for all these reasons, fungus does not pass these lips.

Campbell's isn't exactly the epitome of great soups.  My aversion to Campbell's soup springs from coming up in the age of Cream-of-Whatever casseroles, including a really awful tuna noodle casserole with mushroom soup.  Campbell's soup was also my mom's idea of healthy eating whenever I was sick as a youngster, including during several bouts of the stomach flu. To this day, the smell of their chicken noodle soup makes me nauseous.  (Grammarly tells me that my text sounds disapproving... as it should!).

I do like mushrooms so here's a related fact:  I am making homemade cream of mushroom soup for lunch today (take that Campbell's!).

So do I!

This year I made 14 mushrooms (well, probably toadstools actually) out of 2mm craft foam to go underneath my Yule tree (check them out on the YouTube channel!)
