I found a screenshot comparing the race models of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. It's interesting to see how much things (graphically) have improved over the last decade.

And I love the new Argonian model! Now I just have to wait and see if the digitigrade legs are coming back...

Also, looking at that screenshot made me realize how soulless the eyes of the Oblivion models looked. o.O
One of the things that struck me about the video Lokabrenna linked was how much better the Khajit in particular look. Remember in Morrowind the way they walked - like they were wearing a nappy and had filled it...

That picture calls to mind all those "makeover" shows where they show the before and after pictures and everyone goes "OH MY GOODNESS YOU LOOK SO GOOD!"

That was basically how I reacted to that picture. I love what they've done with the Khajiit in particular. Their fur looks so soft!

Is anyone getting that 'please please please don't let it be a disappoinment oh gods it's going to be a disappointment oh please let it be as good as I think it will be...' feeling?

Each time I play a new TES game, I go through a series of ups and downs. Ooooooh, that's new! Wait. where's my levitation spell! Fast travel....yup, likin' that! How the $#% did I get killed by a rat at level 10??!!??

I suspect Skyrim will be similar.....

I just watched footage of a pretty thorough demo that was showcased at Quakecon. You can see it here:

"Do you guys know what the black hand symbolizes?"

I didn't like the Oblivion fast travel - much preferred Morrowind there. I also wasn't keen on the map markers. Part of the fun (and, ok, occasionally frustration) of Morrowind was wandering about and getting distracted while trying to find a quest objective.

I agree.

Did I mention I also missed the levitation spell in Oblivion? :D:

It may have come up. Lol :) I miss it too - I had a set of the levitating boots in Morrowind which where lots of fun.

I'm almost POSITIVE you meant High-elf Sorceress. :p

On the first play through I turned the compass off. But I gotta tell you, in Morrowind I just plain got sick and tired of having to run through the ashlands AGAIN to get to some remote location. Once I have found a place I want to be able to fast travel there. Mind you, I was half way through the game before I figured out how the mark and recall spells worked. That helped.

There are a number of game breakers in both games. The compass is one in Oblivion. It really is better turned off for the first run through. Although the total chameleon spell is a total game breaker.

Enchanting was a game breaker in Morrowind. I had a couple of rings that could level a town, and a set of armor that did constant restore health. Can you say God?

You can turn the compass off? I bet that's a PC only thing...

I hate the way in Oblivion even the slightest amount of Chamaeleon makes you invisible to yourself so you can't see which weapon you're holding. I know the icon's in the bottom left but I get so used to seeing that big ole bow in the middle of the screen that I accidentally de-equip ... sometimes with hilarious/annoying effects.
