I always like trying new beer, so I thought I would ask everyone what their favorite beers are. Mine is Shiner Bock or Shiner Kosmos from Spoetzl Brewery here in Texas.

I'm partial to darker, heavier beers. Guinness and McEwan's Scotch Ale are the two that I'm most likely to order.

I really like Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, though I have to go to a specialty bottle store to find it.

I love Shock Top and Blue Moon--both wheat beers flavoured with citrus and coriander.

Sounds like we have similar tastes in beer! I like the raspberry Shock Top too.

I'm only a beer dilettante, but I haven't found anything else I like better than Blue Moon. I'll drink Sam Adams seasonal stuff as well.

I tried Budweiser once years ago, and it scared me off of real hoppy or what I consider regular "beer" stuff since. lol. Maybe I wouldn't mind that type of standard Amurrican lager if I tried it now, but I've had no reason to!

My very favorite is my own - a black strap stout I have refined over several years.  Commercially available and not just local (we have an excellent local brewery here)?  Black Butte Porter and Pipeline Porter are my current favorites that I can get in the bottle in the market.

You really need to try my jasmine IPA.  I'll make it for the summer party next year.  ;)

Jasmine IPA? That sounds AMAZING!

I make a fairly malt-forward (but otherwise standard) IPA and use a couple ounces of jasmine tea at the end of the boil.  It's an attempted clone of this beer, only not quite as high-octane and with even more of a jasmine nose.

Does anyone care for wheat beer? Shiner Hefeweizen is a wheat beer I like to drink from time to time.

My husband really enjoys Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen beer. Trader Joe's also has a really good Hefeweizen. My husband was introduced to this type of beer while stationed in Germany ... ages ago.

I really don't like beer very much. However on our trip to Ireland a few years ago we visited the Guinness Brewery. I had to have my complimentary pint. I really like Guinness! However, the bottled stuff over here is NOT the same as the lovely stuff they served me in Dublin.

Very true, it is different.

The only brewery I have visited is the Schalfy Bottleworks in St Louis, and I found it fascinating.

Oh dear I butchered that name. That's supposed to say Schlafly.

I have no tolerance for hops, so I am a Belgians kinda person.

My favorite is Duchesse de Bourgogne, a Flemish red.
