Just looked it up. Not my cup of tea! (Pun intended!)

If I was going to drink that volume of spirits (which would be difficult), I would just use Rum and skip the Vodka, Gin, and Tequila. At which point it would just be a Rum and Coke with the ratios switched around.
Another bad one is a Lynchburg Lemonade. On a hot day they go down too fast!

Do you have a favorite cocktail? Or you don't like mixed drinks?

Mimosa/Buck's Fizz. Both are sparkling wine and orange juice, 1:1 and 2:1 respectively. I'm a lightweight. :)

And today I had the chance to sample a sparkling red wine, and all I can think about is mixing it with pomegranate juice and calling it Blood Fizz. 😁

I'm not sure, I never really thought about it - I used to drink vodka and orange back in university, then more recently I went through a gin and tonic phase.  But mostly I tend to drink lager shandy when I'm in a pub or whatever nowadays.  At home I mostly have fruit flavoured ciders we discovered recently, brand named Kopparberg, or mead.  Around Yule time I will treat myself to a bottle of Jaegermeister or Baileys.

This sounds like I drink a lot - I really don't.  A bottle of the above spirits will last me all year.  Honest!

Oh also I do like a very occasional absinthe.  I will take it just with some chilled water, because I don't have sugar cubes or a special spoon to drip it through with.

And, I've had Buck's Fizz but mimosa sounds nice, I'll have to try that sometime, and 'Blood Fizz' sounds really fun!

'Blood Fizz' sounds really fun!

I decided to make some for Halloween. If sparkling red doesn't come along (I've found only two on the market, and they're both a bit on the pricey side), rosé cava will do.

Look for a Lambrusco, it's a fizzy sweet red that can usually be found quite inexpensively (we just found a 1.5L Lambrusco at Aldi for about $6)

Ooohh, that's good. I was worried it could turn out very tart because of the pomegranate, but a sweet wine could balance that out. Thanks!

This reminds me - this summer I was introduced to Radler, which is half lager and half grapefruit juice. The name is apparently from its first being served to thirsty cyclists in Germany, and it is quite refreshing.

That does sound refreshing.

Sounds similar to shandy (light beer and lemonade), which is a very English summer thing too.

Huh. I'll take your word for that, since you're English, but if I order a shandy in a pub in Canada, I expect it to be beer and ginger beer/ginger ale.

I went to Asura Asian Bistro in Korea Town (west 35th street between 8th and 7th ave I believe), and had a wonderful cocktail called Northern Lights. Though I didn't get the recipe proportions... I do know it has the following;
  • Pinot Noir
  • Whiskey
  • Black currant Liqueur
  • Fresh lemon juice

And it was... quite the punch. Smooth, but very strong in the alcohol department.
