2019 Donation Drive

It's time for our annual Server Donation Drive! We need to raise at least $650 (same as last year) to keep The Cauldron's server online for another year. Please help! Either hit that Paypal button to the right and make a one-time donation in any amount or set up a monthly Bronze, Silver or Gold Donor subscription. You can find more info in this message!

Donations as of 16 Sept 2019: $660 donated. $10 more our minimum goal! Let's beat last year's total of $99 more than the minimum!

Note: This total is updated manually, usually once a day

* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

« on: October 31, 2011, 11:30:05 am »
Welcome to the Discussion of the Week for November 1st through 7th, 2011!

Topic: The Dark Flame

Background reading: Perceiving the Dark Flame; The Dark Flame and You

Questions: Are you in balance? Are you even aware of your inward dark flame?

Is the darkness in you nurtured as well as the light? Why or why not? Does this imagery make you uncomfortable?

Can you feel the Divine connection to the dark flame? The lit one? Both?

I believe so. As I said above, I have flames in my flames lol. I think I am more in tune with my dark flame. I often have to retreat into myself to work on how to project myself to the world. I go inwards to work on my Bright Flame- as weird as that may be. However, I don't think I'm completely balanced. Set wants me to be whole- which means I'm currently not whole. I'm two halves fighting with one another trying to figure out how to keep an equilibrium. So while I understand the halves are there- they aren't in perfect balance yet.

I suck at the Light stuff. I would argue that my Dark is more nurtured. I love the coolness that it brings me. The Light work just wears me out. The imagery doesn't bother me. It's hard to keep it in line, though. I consider dark to be yin and light to be yang- which is some of the opposite of how other people look at light and dark (good and evil). So I have to be careful with how I do my wording. Otherwise, it doesn't bother me.

Both. The Divine is in everything, and I can feel the divine touch in all aspects of myself.

I referenced some of what I wrote in my blog- so if you wanted to see more, it's here: http://thetwistedrope.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/fk-journal-words-meets-darkness/

I am quite aware of my dark flame, being a somewhat lazy and selfish person. I'd say my bright flame is lighter than my dark. Both need work.

It is. I enjoy peaceful alone time. It helps me reset and stabilize. I find the imagery peaceful and comforting.

No. That is something I struggle with.

I wish that I were in balance! It seems to be quite a distant dream at the moment, to be completely honest. I am very much aware of both my dark and light flame though.

I am not very good at nurturing my dark flame. I will always put others first, ahead of myself, even when I am ill. I know that I need to stop because I am no good to anyone if I'm, oh say unconcious! But I can't help it. Something in me just keeps me doing it. I'm ok with the imagery.

I'm not in balance at all. As I journey my dark flame has been peeping out.

The darkness is a tiny speck deep within that has been neglected for way too many years. A long time back I decided it was better to hide within myself to escape some bad experiences. During that time I also began telling myself I wasn't worth much and didn't deserve good things or to treat myself well.

I am afraid of what lies with the darkness. Emotions and experiences not dealt with that have controlled me since I was young. Finally dealing with those scares the hell out of me. But I know if I am to grow I need to know my true self not the me who wears a mask.

I do feel that the Divine is nudging if not pushing me to the dark flame. It is a part of me and therefore is worthy of exploration. My outside bright flame has always been visible. Putting others first and making sure their needs are met is second nature. Of course the bright flame is much easier for me to connect with.

I'm more in balance now I think than I used to be.  I'm aware of my dark flame.  It doesn't always get specific attention, but it gets a lot more attention now than it did before.

I think I go through phases when I feel like I need to do things for myself or things for others depending on what just "feels" like it needs doing.  The imagery doesn't make me uncomfortable, but mostly because it simply makes sense to me.

Yes.  It's easy to forget about sometimes when stressed or just really really busy, but I know it's there.

I am definitely *not* in balance, although I'm striving ever forward.  I am well aware of my Dark Flame and continue to work to nurture it.  In the past six months, I've become much more comfortable with the darkness inside me and am actively cultivating it, both spiritually and "in life".

Yes, and the imagery doesn't make me uncomfortable.  I am hoping to get to a place where I can help others to nurture and embrace their own Dark Flames.

Ironically, I called myself the 'Dark Flame Wayfinder' once in a conversation with Shad and the Universe decided to toss me into working on my own dark flame. (Note: be careful for what you ask!)  When I am finished my own epic work, I think I'll actually be fit to assist others.

Absolutely - this connection is something I never doubt.
