Don't you just LOVE how they're always surprised that you KNOW that particular song and dance and actually REMEMBER that they try that every time?

It's like they expect us to have no memory at all of the previous day.  Or year.  Or their life.

"You always say that" "But Mommy, I MEAN it!" ...."yeah, you always say that part too.  Still no."

I KNOW, what is  up with that! If I ever tried that with my mother she'd a done me in!!!
I've been  known to tell the kids I didn't fall off the turnip truck this  morning......

Seconded.  So hard.

My personal favourite comes from my cousin: Yes, we are discussing this event.  Yes, I got a detail slightly wrong.  No, actually, that detail has absolutely nothing to do with the actual point of the story.  Why, yes, it is rather annoying how you keep insisting on this.  Why do you ask?
She's also been known to correct her mother, when said mother was telling her little sister not do do something because X person wouldn't want them doing it.  I swear, this girl needs to learn that literal truth and accuracy is not really always the point, and it doesn't make you look intelligent to insist upon it when it's entirely auxiliary to everything about the conversation.
The human brain is an amazing thing: it works twenty-four hours a day, every day from before we are born - except when we take exams.
If everything\'s under control, you\'re going too slowly.

Even  more annoying   is a kid that insists  on  things  being TRUE when they are not remotely even CLOSE to  what  happened!!! :ninja:

When Mommy  is sleeping it's not  normally  a good  idea to  get  right in her face and SCREAM  " can I watch t.v?" ......

It's  not  normally   a  good  idea  for  the 3  of you to gang up on Mommy and then act all  surprised when Mommy  decides she's had ENOUGH and hands out  punishments. It's also not a good idea to LIE to  your therapist  and then  SULK  because Mommy tells  her the TRUTH.
Oh an  if you  want  people to  be  nicer to YOU then you  must  act accordingly  calling  people  losers and  other not so nice names  won't  get you  treated  NICELY  by the other  children, in fact it will have the  complete OPPOSITE  effect you are looking  for.
IF you   tease the  dog with  dog  treats  EXPECT the  dog  to get  mad and   bite you, you have  been  warned   more than once. When I ask  you  why  the  dog  bit  you  DO NOT point at your father and  say "  it is his  fault  cuz he's lazy"  HOW in your mind that is  even possible  is beyond  me but  stop  blaming  everyone else for YOUR CRAP.
When I say  go take your pills BEFORE you play  videos  games, I MEAN IT. Do  not act  surprised when I turn off the tv and take away the controller. OH and  you do not make the  rules there fore you will get the controller back WHEN   you stop acting like a little  brat, I will not give you  back the controller  to  make you stop acting like  a brat  life  just does not work that way!

Mom's and dad's  caregiver's  etc  feel free to add to the list! This  post is all in good  humor thou.

That is why I send my 2 sons to a summer day camp. I literally will go crazy when those two will just stay at home the whole day. This way, I can have a couple of hours to myself until the time they get back. :)
