If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

(Fingers crossed that I can articulate this question adequately.)

For those of you who have had a deity place a geis/prohibition/personal taboo on you:  Have any of you had it lifted?  How did you know the deity had removed it?

I've not had it lifted, but I've had one of them modified twice:

I am not allowed to participate in religious ceremonies from traditions that are not my own; I must always opt-out.
  • This, apparently, no longer includes the tradition in which I was raised because it is deemed to have been my tradition at one point. (I suspect this was modified because of family-foo, but I did not ask for the modification.)
  • It no longer includes involving myself in the music of other traditions.  I am now allowed to sing and/or chant from any tradition.  (I asked for this modification because singing is a key thing for my sanity and some of the best.music.ever is religious music.)

I'm happy to do a reading for you as well, Aster.  Let me know.

I'd love a reading, if you're up for it. I'm thinking multiple readings might really help with different perspectives.  Thank you!

For the first, the feelings of dread went away and I started looking forward to having the option to go to Christmas Eve services with my parents.  It's nostalgia, really, but attending some sort of Christian service on the 24th is part of what the holiday was for me as a child and since I celebrate Christmas as a ka/akhu festival, it makes sense to incorporate it.

For the second, I knew almost instantly since I requested the change.  It was like a dam bursting - I spent weeks with "previously prohibited" songs in my head and bursting out of my mouth.

No problem at all!

Hmmmm. That does sound like my missing "stop sign"...

I don't presume to know the minds of deities, but I find this very odd.

If an appropriate authority were to put up a stop sign along the side of a road, would they then remove the stop sign once they were sure that everyone that regularly travels that road had seen it?

The only reason to remove a stop sign is if the rule that the sign was put up to notify people of was no longer in force. Otherwise, it negates the whole purpose of the sign being up to begin with.
I kind of see this as a stop sign at a place under construction. When the construction is over, then they can remove the stop sign, you don't need to stop after construction is over.

I haven't had any direct experience with this, so I've been staying quiet, but that's my thoughts anyway
"Let it be that state of manyhood bound and loathing. So with thy all; thou hast no right but to do thy will. Do that and no other shall say nay. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is in every way perfect."

Good analogy. Maybe better than my fog bank.  ;-)
