(Unfortunately I cannot add this to my previous post)

Just to make it crystal clear and not leave any doubt, I only judge people by their own behaviour/s and do not judge people by their labels, be they self imposed or otherwise. I do not make assumptions, it might be a good idea to not take offense to things which do not involve or are not pointed at you.

I guess that is why the religious zealots that arrive at my door don't get egged.

You started out by saying "you never know who is going to go completely psychotic and stab you" - in no way does this indicate that you are limiting the subject to this one person that you brought up later when you were called on your words.

And if you're talking about psychotic folks, hey, you never know. Maybe that means you were pointing it at me.

You know, all I am going to say is YES, I do know his diagnosis, and everything that goes on every single day because it happens meters away from where I am sitting right now. The screaming, the ranting, the raving, the vandalism, the abuse. You should have seen what happened when I politely asked him to stop putting his trash in my bin.
The local community groups, which I work with, are trying to get him moved into safer location, however the left hand is not talking to the right hand and the various involved groups are too scared to release information due to privacy laws. We are still trying to get the police into a position where they are able to do more. I am the liason here, I am on the frontline. Not you.

You don't know what I know and I would appreciate you not assuming you know more about my life than I do. Your links, won't change his diagnosis.

Perhaps he does not conform to YOUR definition of psychotic, however he confirms to the DSM's version. As well as the commonly accepted defintion.

You know what, forget it. I won't deal with belief bias.

In addition, if I am talking about you, I will directly address you. Anyone could be talking about anyone anywhere, don't be pedantic.
Making something about yourself, taking offense at something because somehow you can apply it to yourself? A comment from someone you do not know and have never met? Wow.. Talk about causing yourself stress. Now you pass it back to me as though I did something wrong.

Yeah ok. Not bothering with EC. Goodbye.

The point of my links was that one person doesn't actually negate the fact that violence against the mentally ill is a widespread problem that is made worse by stereotypes like the idea that the mentally ill are just violence waiting to happen.

We wouldn't have much conversation on this board if people were only allowed to reply when they were specifically addressed. Nonetheless, you started out talking about "psychotic people" and not "this guy who lives near me."

One experience doesn't make everyone a 'psycho'. I understand the need to be wary of people, but the assumption that it's because of mental illness in any and all cases is misleading at best, more likely harmful.

That's because words mean things. Pointing out a problematic use of a word doesn't make it an ego battle.

You'll find that many of us here are as serious as Young Einstein.

"where words mean things" is actually the subtitle of my blog. :) So I will take that as a compliment.

Why do people always assume that I must be unhappy if I'm disagreeing with them? Does agreement necessarily bring happiness? Is there a "sheeple" joke in here somewhere? Am I just too emo to appreciate arguing on the internet?

*** MOD HAT ON ***
You cannot delete your account. You agreed to read the rules before you make your first post when you created your account so I'm sure you saw the following in the rules:

We do not delete accounts, so please do not ask to have your account  deleted. Accounts are never deleted as doing so would completely disrupt  every topic the account holder ever participated in. If you wish to  leave the board, just go to your profile and turn off all your board and  topic subscriptions and set your account to block email from users and  announcements.

Should you decide that you are not really leaving, please remember that editting messages other than to correct typos after replies have been made is against forum rules. If a reply to your message makes you think you need to add to watch you said, just post a new message. If it makes you think you need to change what you said, just post a new message correcting yourself.
