Just to make it crystal clear and not leave any doubt, I only judge people by their own behaviour/s and do not judge people by their labels, be they self imposed or otherwise. I do not make assumptions, it might be a good idea to not take offense to things which do not involve or are not pointed at you.

I guess that is why the religious zealots that arrive at my door don't get egged.

 
You started out by saying "you never know who is going to go completely psychotic and stab you" - in no way does this indicate that you are limiting the subject to this one person that you brought up later when you were called on your words.

And if you're talking about psychotic folks, hey, you never know. Maybe that means you were pointing it at me.

You know, all I am going to say is YES, I do know his diagnosis, and everything that goes on every single day because it happens meters away from where I am sitting right now. The screaming, the ranting, the raving, the vandalism, the abuse. You should have seen what happened when I politely asked him to stop putting his trash in my bin.
The local community groups, which I work with, are trying to get him moved into safer location, however the left hand is not talking to the right hand and the various involved groups are too scared to release information due to privacy laws. We are still trying to get the police into a position where they are able to do more. I am the liason here, I am on the frontline. Not you.

Perhaps he does not conform to YOUR definition of psychotic, however he confirms to the DSM's version. As well as the commonly accepted defintion.

The point of my links was that one person doesn't actually negate the fact that violence against the mentally ill is a widespread problem that is made worse by stereotypes like the idea that the mentally ill are just violence waiting to happen.

One experience doesn't make everyone a 'psycho'. I understand the need to be wary of people, but the assumption that it's because of mental illness in any and all cases is misleading at best, more likely harmful.

That's because words mean things. Pointing out a problematic use of a word doesn't make it an ego battle.

Why do people always assume that I must be unhappy if I'm disagreeing with them? Does agreement necessarily bring happiness? Is there a "sheeple" joke in here somewhere? Am I just too emo to appreciate arguing on the internet?
