I;m still having trouble coming up with my list even though I know it exists, but I got two and a general concept at least.

-Howl's Moving Castle (and its sequels), Diana Wynne Jones
-Any of the Tortall serieses by Tamora Pierce (Alanna, Wild Magic, Protector of the Small, Trickster)
-In general, books I've liked and reread a lot of times, eg Harry Potter or something, where I'm familiar enough with it that I can decide what part of the story I want to read, start there, and immerse myself in it (plus I know the story so if I'm having trouble concentrating, it's not super critical)

I visited my old university campus today and I honestly don’t know how to feel about it. I found myself asking, “was it really such a great time here? Or am I just remembering the great times?”

It’s comforting in a way, because it shows that life goes on. Everything will change. But it’s also a bit sad.

For me, I think it's that I look at something I used to enjoy and find calming, and instead see the things I've lost that I used to associate with it. Like, for example, I have depression and anxiety (and other stuff going on) and that can manifest as debilitating panic attacks and/or suicidal ideation, and one way of talking myself down is that I have a set of note cards to go through to bring me into the moment (eg, "Where are you right now," "What time is it," "Have you contacted anyone yet,") followed by a set of cards with options to calm myself down, three of which are to find a book, movie, or music to distract me, and those are accompanied by a list of books, movies, and songs/albums I like (because decision making and remembering things are both really hard in that state of mind).

Some of those things that I used to find really calming or distracting, and even found so much so that I wrote them down, I go to open and realize all I can think of is the friend I used to enjoy it with (who is maybe no longer in my life, or lives far away and and has multiple jobs, making the contact we do have sparse and hard to keep up), or a part in my life where I wasn't struggling this much, and so on.

That's kind of an extreme example (since not finding any Soup means one less coping tactic) but it's the best I can word it.

So my question is, what works of literature do you find are spiritually nourishing for you?

I preferer to read children/young adults Brooks. I don’t like most adults books. They’re often too much about relationsships and I’m not interested in that. For me it spoils the story.
I do like Agatha Christy and Kathy Reichs.
My favorite youthbooks:
- Almost everything from Rick Riordan
- Hellicon, Muse academie series by Morgan Blade
- The Ulysses Moore series
- The Hobbit and the Lord of the rings
- mythology books
