* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Actually, I can confirm this. I do know of at least two local councillers who have knowledge of esoterica. Although, from what I recall, the Lib Dem one mostly used it to get laid.

I could be really extreme on my views the hole civilisation is hypnotized in some way. I have a few words that can change my thought process from thick to efficient being. why don't the media use this type of technique. my thoughts are they don't want the world to evolve.

Well, fundamentalist evangelical Christians certainly think so. They loooooove the idea (ridiculous, IMO) that Freemasons are demonic and the government is run by Satan and witchcraft and quite possibly child sacrifice. Most recently I read some guy speculating that all scientists are part of a secret cabal of wizards run by a satanic government, and he was dead serious. I'm extremely skeptical, however. Quite honestly, this sounds like something right out of a Chick Tract.

Well, I wouldn't wager anything more valuable than a cold soda on this, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that some mid-level operatives in the CIA (or INS Division 6!) were in direct contact with demons in the guise of what the government men believe are space aliens.

Now, if you will excuse me, I need to go and re-fold my tin foil hat....

Possibly. I suppose that wouldn't exactly shock me. I guess I see a difference between "the government" and "a few CIA operatives". I mean, I'm sure you could dredge up a decent handful of ethical, honest, and altruistic politicians, but that doesn't mean that "the government" is decent, honest, and altruistic. There's a difference between asserting that there are a few Satanists in government somewhere, for instance, and asserting that the government is secretly run by an evil satanic cabal that sacrifices babies on the regular* to achieve their aims.

I kind of read the OP as meaning that witchcraft is some sort of standard operating procedure.

*I know that Satanists do not sacrifice babies on the regular.

I'd say there's a difference between "politicians" and "the Government," too. If you include civil servants of all departments, I'm sure you'd find a lot more honesty and decency than if you only looked at Congress (or House of Commons, or whatever).

Oh definitely. And probably a lot more witchcraft. Mostly of the harmless, non-conspiratorial, every day variety, like the happiness spell I do when I make coffee or tea, or the wearing of a miraculous medal, or the saying of a protection prayer before one heads out on the road.

I don't know why, but something about this reminded me of The Men Who Stare at Goats.

There are definitely government employees who do small magics, but nothing conspiracy level. I wouldn't let being a government employee from preventing myself from doing magic to make it easier for me to do my job tbh.
