One of the things people actually liked about our abortive attempt to use a new website was how new threads on the board could be announced in in our Discord chat. I'm happy to report that their is now a working SMF2 mod that makes such announcements. They aren't as nicely formatted as one ones from the new website attempt (and they don't include a preview of the actual message posted), but they work here. New threads/posts will now be announced in the thread-announcements channel in our Discord chat server.

However, it seems to do post replies as well as initial reports, which is handy.

I'm glad you like it as I'm not sure I could turn just that part off. I did manage to give it a separate poster/bot name.

I expect it will be a handy way of noticing that a thread's gotten heated faster, since I check in on the board proper notably more erratically than Discord turns red in my sidebar.
