I've seen a lot of mention of it(CauldronMUX) around the site and am intrigued.
Tried connecting a few months ago but it didn't seem to be up anymore.

Does it still exist or has it been retired for the more modern Discord?

You guessed right - 'retired in favor of Discord' is exactly what we did.

As Sunflower said, it's been retired. However, it is temporarily up at the moment for some testing on my end. As long as it is up you are welcome to log in. You can even use the html5 client I'm using CauldronMUX to test (the old Flash client died with Flash) at https://ecauldron.com/forum/index.php?page=cauldronmux -- I make no promises how long any of this will be available.

Thanks for telling me, Randall. I popped on there and looked around. A lot of fun relics on there. I used to be a builder on multiple MU*s so I've got a soft spot for them. BUT! I'm really diggin' the Anachronism BBS! Reminds me of the new breed of "retro" cyberpunk games that've came out...but if anything it's the inspiration for such things. I've never tinkered with the old BBS stuff before, so I'm really excited. Is it gonna stick around?

If all they want to do is talk, it's much easier. Some folks are asking for a MU* of some type for creating online ritual space, some something may pop up. It's not a high priority, however.

Perhaps not with the current software, but Anachronism BBS is here to stay. I used to run a BBS back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and putting up a new one has been a long term goal. Finding time to work on it isn't easy so it is a low priority, but at least I can play LORD.
