I'm so glad it got there in time.  I hedged my bet, though.  The fabric and ribbon were both put out for Brighid's blessing last year.

yes, it is, I just followed a basic cross pattern but as I put each length on i slipped a bead on, then when all the pieces were in place I threaded beads along the arms and finished of by twisting wire round the ends. If i was doing it again i think I would use slightly thicker wire.

If you don't mind more questions:  What size wire and beads did you use and what size wire do you think would be better?  Did you use beading wire (which kind?) or some other kind of wire?  How flexible is the one you made?  How big is it?

I'd like to try making a beaded cross, in case you can't tell, and I think the one you made is really beautiful. No point reinventing the wheel, right?  ;-)

sorry for the delay in responding, both myself and my computer have been sick

anyway, the wire was 0.40 mm and the beads were 8/0, the wire was just a bit too flimsy for me to work with comfortably. (but it did make it very flexible.)

i can't remember how big it is, maybe Roquelaire can measure it for you?

Thanks for the info.  No worries about the size -- I was just curious.

I don't want you to go to any trouble.  That said, of course I'd love one!  :-D. But only if you happen to be sitting around with nothing better to do and beading crosses anyway.  I really don't want you to go through the hassle just for me.

(And, if you do find yourself making one for me, I'd definitely want to reimburse you for supplies and shipping.)

Either way, I appreciate the offer, as well as the idea and the info.  I don't know why it never occurred to me to try beading Brighid's crosses.
