Not Dead. How is everyone?
« on: June 18, 2017, 01:46:58 pm »
Just been incredibly busy. My shifts have been lovely though even though they've been abbreviated since my work schedule is all over the place. I'm finally finishing up Tending Brigid's Flame, and I've been scouring the internet for prayers and devotional ideas.

I'm finding Brigid a lovely companion on this windy spiritual journey I'm on. I hang out in that luminal space between pagan and Christian (my reception into the Episcopal Church is probably next spring) and since Brigid lives there too, she's been helpful. I relate to her more as goddess than saint, but have found that honoring her in both forms brings a richness to my devotions.

How is everyone else? I've missed being here; I feel so out of the loop.

I'm pretty good - and happy to see you active again; I've missed you!

Glad you're well! It's been a crazy summer and I just realized how much I've missed it here.

(Also, just looked over my post and holy typos, Batman...)

I've not been around as much as I would like either. I'm so crazy busy just now. My book came out in Feb and since then, it's been constant marketing stuff round about putting together an anthology, working on the next book and trying to figure out how to make myself visible.

My 3yo has been sick a lot this year. Colds, infections, tonsillitis. So she's taken a lot of looking after. And of course I had a baby in December.

I still keep my shifts but I feel like my spiritual practice has taken a backseat lately.

Congrats on the book! I don't have kids but that sounds like quite the handful! I definitely go through spiritual down-times and up-swings. Some days I light a candle to Brigid and/or drag myself to eucharist just to remind myself that I HAVE a spiritual life, even if it's not my shift (I light candles for a lot of different reasons... ancestor work, spell work, etc.... I had to start making my own and recycling the wax to make it affordable).

I'm in the loop, I'm out of the loop, I'm so far from the loop it doesn't even look like a loop...

I've been keeping up with my flametending, at least, both with our Cill and the one that ADF runs. I'm working on the ADF dedicant program and also the second degree elevation with my coven. In and amongst various other non-religious things and trying to sweep drama and nonsense and BS out of my life.
