Group Keeping
« on: July 16, 2011, 07:14:04 pm »
Hi,

I saw Nyktipolos' question in the Cill Schedule thread about what people do on a group keeping and I'm interested in this too. So, what do you do? Is a group keeping different to you from your normal shift? Why / why not? Is there anything you would like to see a part of group keeping (like a shared theme for meditation)?

The last group keeping, I treated like my normal shift, because I had too many outside obligations to be able to do anything extra special.  But I wouldn't mind participating in a themed meditation or something to give it a more connected and unified group feel!  I've been a practicing Solitary for so long that even participating in the shifts at all is a new experience for me.  A good one, obviously or I wouldn't still be here.
You can also find my ramblings at my blog although I\'m not the best at regular updates.  I\'m working on fixing that. Or look for me on FB here or Google+ here. :)

Heh. Beat me to it. :)

I honestly have no idea what I'll do during this upcoming group keeping shift. I'm starting to have less and less reasons to celebrate Celtic or Germanic festivals (so, Wheel of the Year festivals), or at least under those names. So Lammas and Lughnasadh are kind of out the door for me, because I have no desire to celebrate those festivals how they should be, or at least having the original intent behind them. The only festivals I really feel called to do are ones relating to the Gods I follow, and very few of them overlap with the typical eight. Soo.. internal conflict, I has it. :)

I thought that since the group keeping is coming up in a few days I'd bump this thread. Is anyone interested in a group theme for meditation? Any ideas for a theme?

I'm still up for a group thing.  I'm not as familiar with Lugh though...is there anything in the mythology of how He relates to Brighid or where there realms overlap....maybe over the blacksmiths hearth?
