Each year on the December solstice--that's the winter solstice (longest  night of the year) in the northern hemisphere, and the summer solstice  in the southern hemisphere--many of us here at the Cauldron, of various  paths and inclinations, celebrate by passing all or part of the night  together. We "gather" electronically here in a special thread created  just for that night, and/or in chat, and rally each other to stay up all  night.

It's a lot of fast-moving, random fun (esp. in the wee hours, when we're  all loopy from sleep-deprivation), with absolutely no requirement to  tough it out for the whole night; come as you are, come for a minute,  come for the long haul...but come and join us! Whether weathering winter  in the north or savoring summer in the south, everybody's welcome.

It's on for the evening beginning at sunset on Sunday, December 21. And  in an astronomical double-whammy, the solstice and the new moon coincide  that night, so get ready to tap some major low-ebb-of-the-cycle mojo.

Up All Night is very unstructured; we report on the progress of night  from our locale, swap recipes--chocolate mug cake!--trade stories, share  videos, music, or other links found on the web...anything goes, within  the usual forum rules, of course. But each year we try to think of an  organizing theme that can either inspire your posts or be readily  ignored; a "non-theme", so to speak. This year's non-theme is:

"Home Is Where the Heart(h) Is"

Tell us about/show us your home, or where you'd like to make your home,  share something that makes you feel at home...you get the idea. So  please join us for all or part of Up All Night: A Technopagan Solstice  Celebration, beginning at sunset on Sunday, December 21!

WOOHOO! I'll be taking a major nap during the day on Sunday to get ready.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

I'm happy to say "Up All Night" has taken on a life of its own, such that others would pick up the ball and it would happen anyway, with or without me.

Though I think "Major Force" might end up being my superhero name...

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's MAJOR FORCE! *deep announcing tone*

Couldn't resist. Lol.
