If you live in (most places in) the US and Canada, you need to set your clocks forward one hour tonight before you go to bed because daylight savings time begins at 2am (which suddenly becomes 3am) tomorrow morning (March 10, 2019). It's the time Lyricfox hates: time to lose an hour of sleep and confuse all the animals again.

Since I'm working the graveyard shift tonight (apologies to Morbid!), it means that all I lose is an hour of work!

(And, since I'm scheduled to work 20 hours overtime next week, I don't mind a bit!)

Boo, hiss. Especially so since I work at 9am tomorrow so I need to get up at 6 and that hour is going to come much faster than usual. (and of course I am late getting to bed.)
Pray drunk. Hex sober.

Do you (and people in this situation in general) get paid for that missing hour? Does payroll software have a special "Spring Forward" routine to cover this situation? Bored minds short an hour of sleep want to know.

New job, not sure. It's probably spelled out in the union contract. Most places I've worked the graveyard shift before you get the hour paid in the spring and then you get an hour overtime when you turn the clocks back in the fall.

Boss was in this morning; asked him. Yes, I get paid the full 8 hours. Nice!

Interesting (in a good way). In all the years I worked with CPAs and payroll software in the late 80s and all the 90s, I never even thought about this nor can I remember anyone else asking.

I forgot.  My cats didn't, and they are all like "FINALLY you're waking up at the right time!!!!"

Me too. Good thing I usually look at my laptop clock, which looks after itself. Going to work today was not fun; I'm sure the wine I had last night didn't help.
