It's my least favorite day of the year again. The night I lose an hour of sleep. We are hoping it will reset the dogs so we don't have to get up at 6am now the the remodel is done, however.

In most of the US, it's time to set your clocks forward. Daylight   Savings Time starts at 2am tomorrow morning (which suddenly becomes   3am). You'll probably want to set your clocks forward an hour before you   go to bed.

To be honest, I don't really see the need for the whole Daylight savings thing. It would be nice if we didn't have it.

It beats having the sun rise at 4:30-5 am in South Texas during the early summer.

Yeah, what's winter to you? Fifty degree weather?

Minus ten and snow the height of a man, sonny! And we walk fifteen miles to work uphill both ways! And the local yokels are shootin' their guns in the air and hootin' and hollerin' all night long, deranged by years of toxic blueberry moonshine and generations of incestous breeding. And the chowdah has mercury and the lobstah bite!

Allright, we don't walk to work. The rest is true and unexaggerated.

I much prefer the change to DST. The sleep adjustment isn't fun, but I like the longer daylight. The Fall back to standard time is the one I don't like when it starts getting dark at 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM in late fall and winter. Having sunset after 8:30 PM in the summer is great!

Hey, its been in the 20s here recently. And we had snow: 3.5 inches of the stuff and some was still on the ground the next day. That's almost a disaster. ;)

Oh no, someone call FEMA!

... I do think it's a bit silly to be changing to Daylight Saving Time before the equinox though. We spend less than half the year on "standard" time that way ...

Awwww, poor baby.

Here in Maine, we let kindergarteners have recess untill it drops below zero. Twenty? That's picnic weather.

That may be why we don't change back to British Summer Time until the last Sunday in March.

Well, not unless the snow's got into the subway engines. Or the two guys with the pickaxes and shovels haven't de-iced the switches yet.

My favorite DST proposal is to ditch it and move New England into Atlantic time. The changeover days mess up my sleep schedule.
