The Cauldron: A Pagan Forum

One of the most appreciated features we managed to add to SMF was a way to return to the unread messages list from the bottom of the screen. We duplicated the entire menu bar at the bottom on SMF.  Sadly, there was no realistic way to do this on vBulletin. The menubar is too complex.

However, after a lot of searching for how to do this and where to put it, I have managed to add a New Posts button near the bottom -- very handy for when you have finished reading one thread and want to return to the new posts list to select another thread with new messages. I've added the button on the Quick Navigation line, between the forum list drop down and the Top button. Here's a picture of what to look for:



Note that this new button only appears on pages displaying the messages in a thread or the list of threads in a forum. It would not make much sense elsewhere. Also note that you will not see the "Moderation Tools" drop down unless you are a moderator.

Special thanks to Jubes on this one. Her editing of the bottom Reply to Thread button on the Test Forum last month gave me the major clue I needed to figure out where this was in all of the templates vBulletin uses.
