ADMIN: Fall Back (Daylight time ends in the US: 4 Nov 2012)
« on: November 03, 2012, 07:39:33 pm »
Daylight Saving Time ends in most of the US at 2:00am tomorrow morning (Sunday, November 4). You'll probably want to set your clocks back 1 hour before you go to bed tonight if you are in an area of the US that uses Daylight Saving Time.

Thank you. I had forgotten. I take a small pleasure in this one due to what feels like and extra hour to sleep in.

working nights for as long term as I have, I've noticed something. In the spring, 2 or 3 people are always late, "Oh, I forgot to set my clock forward.  oopsie."

In the fall, no one is early because they forgot to set their clocks back.  NO ONE.

This may be partly because they find out between getting up and heading to work that they forgot - in the spring, they can't do much about it (aside from rushing so as to not be as much late. maybe), but in the fall they can say, "Oh, looky, I've an extra hour of leisure before it's work time!"

Though I fancy your cynicism is not altogether misplaced.  It's much easier to remember to change the clock when there's the payoff-incentive of an extra hour of sleep, and much easier to forget (or to "forget, tee-hee") when there's the disincentive of losing an hour of sleep.
