* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Citizen science, e-volunteering and click-to-give sites

It was a toss up between putting this here or in the Faith in Everyday Life category, and I went for here on this occasion.

This is a thread for sharing details of citizen science, e-volunteering and click-to-give sites.

One example of the first sort of site was brought to my attention by, I think, SunflowerP sometime last year - the Lost Ladybug Project: http://www.lostladybug.org/participate.php

In the e-volunteering category, I like to visit https://www.zooniverse.org/ on which there are a whole variety of science and humanities projects one can get involved with.

And finally, in the click-to-give sphere, for years I've been supporting https://therainforestsite.greatergood.com/clickToGive/trs/home - there are also links on the site via which it's possible to support a range of other causes, too.

Are there similar sites which you all use and would like to share?

I've been meaning to reply to this thread - as a science teacher and as a biologist, I LOVE citizen science projects - mind you, I'm still figuring out how to use them in my unit plans, but that's for this summer vacation.

Here are the ones I'm familiar with for the citizen science projects:Those are the ones I know of or have coworkers who use them. There's a LOT out there!!

I studied biology and chemistry as an Undergrad. So, I was less of an ecologist and naturalist back then, more focused on genetics, cell biology, molecular biology. I am in Upstate New York right now, but I am aware of a community biotech lab in Brooklyn called Genspace. It can be found at www.genspace.org
