The Kitchen Witch
« on: August 31, 2015, 05:35:49 pm »
I picked up the Kitchen Witch by Soraya and from what I've read of it so far, it seems really awesome. Has anyone else used this book? Is it a reliable source for festival needs and daily use (I may use some of the recipes for regular use and not just the 8 Wheel use)?

I have it. I wasn't impressed by the ritual sections, but the recipes are awesome. Learning to cook from scratch and in season (in Britain, at least), in one single collection!

What about the rituals didn't you care for?

Oh, perfect! Thanks for posting about this. I've been looking for a kitchen witchy cookbook that has some daily use type recipes and not just elaborate/pricey festival recipes. I'll keep an eye out for this one :)

I have The Wicca Cookbook, which is also a good one for daily as well as fancy meals. I use it quite a bit!

I could talk about not caring for Wiccan ritual in general, or for having the same ritual reprinted eight times in the same book with only a few words changing, or for Soraya's verse-making attempts. But the bottom line is - this is a recipe book. There was no need to have rituals in there at all.

I have that book (on my Kindle) and another one of hers as well - haven't started reading it yet though, as we are in the middle of our Big Move (continents and oceans) so I don't really have the mental fortitude to focus too well on anything right now... I will save it for when we have a home and have at least unpacked our boxes.
