I unfortunately have to meditate with music because there is no quiet time in my apartment, so I figure I might as well get to dictate what I hear.

That said, I like Ivo Sedlack best right now, and I've even been able to meditate to some of Sun Ra's more mellow and rhythmic tracks as well as choice pieces by Solar Fields.

I really enjoy Loreena McKennitt or the LoTR soundtrack for meditation. That aside often I use shamanistic drumming.

Ooh yes! This!  :)

Does anyone have any suggestions for good meditation music?

I did use classical music for awhile... But most of the time I went on some weeeeeird trips while listening, so I had to change that up before I went loco. Nature sounds will do it for me. I think someone said here that something with a beat or melody distracts and you end up listening to the music, which is probably what I did. I can't sleep in total silence at night so I turn on the radio to drift off. If it's too loud, if I can hear the lyrics or bass, all of my attention goes to that and I end up not being able to fall asleep. Defeats the purpose of having the radio on, but any little sounds helps. Can't even get a cricket outside of the house to help me out, lol.

Well, drat - I've tried twice to fix the code on those to make them visible, and it's not working.  So, raw links:

Hopefully this will work to at least make them accessible.

I usually meditate without music, but I've found brain entrainment music (music that uses binaural beats to affect brainwave functioning) to be very useful and healing. I particularly like Dr. Jeffrey Thompson's stuff and the various ones from Jupiter Productions.
SPAM is a great discovery for me! :) It helps me to get money just by posting ads to forums and other places. It's usually "against their rules" but I have the right to do whatever it takes to make a few pennies. So I always have my SPAM messages with me and at any time can post one. You can read this SPAM at this SPAM link.

Ah, the old "rules don't apply when I want something" approach!

I await the next recipe, because I'm going to send it to my sister. (She actually likes the stuff! *shudder*)

I like to go into heavier stuff for my meditation music, I don't know why but louder music has always seemed to clear my head. So here are some recommendations if you're into metal, or just find loud music soothing, most of this is still quite slow and all has no vocals because I find them jarring in meditation.

Sleep - Dopesmoker (OK ignore the name of the album, or don't, whatever you're into, it's just slow and sludgy and a whole album)

Boris - Flood (full album), this one's not as "heavy", more repetitive at the beginning, people who aren't into metal might appreciate this for meditation

sunn o))) - Monoliths and Dimensions (full album) some might find this a bit jarring but whatever, it works for me

I've always loved Hol Baumann. I have a Hol Baumann Pandora station, and it's pretty good without any modifications on it. :)
