Hmmmm.... My sister might (seriously) appreciate this recipe. (My brother-in-law, OTOH, not so much.)

Personally, I'm with him on spam.

I think this can be put on "The List of SPAM Recipes That Were Probably Adapted From Pre-Existing Recipes Featuring Actual Food."

In this case, probably pork.

It actually came from a "genuine Hawaiian cuisine" site. ;)

The SO has told me of being in a Hawaiian grocery where they had many many different flavors/types of SPAM.  My response is always "not in my house unless we have a zombie apocalypse."

Yep. Standard fare for most Hawaiian high schoolers and even college goers. Though the latter tend to eat more ramen than musubi.

I never even tried it. Looked and smelled disgusting.

Someone made it for a folklore class I was in. Warm it might be bearable. Cold, slimy, and without appreciable seasoning (just rice smushed with cold SPAM, wrapped in seaweed to hide the monstrosity), I'd rather eat chicken-fried dog dick.

Moral of the story? Do not bite into green wodges you can't immediately identify

I make ceramic art and am currently taking commissions. Have dream altar ware you\'ve always wanted, or a statue for a deity or spirit that you could never find? PM or email me and I\'ll see what I can do ;)

Yup, there are (apparently) many flavors. I tend to avoid that section of the grocery stores.....

I guess my taste buds were very definitely developed by the time we moved back here; my sister's four years younger, and she loves Spam so much you'd think she'd been born here, instead of me!

I've only visited Hawaii.  But SPAM is not allowed in my house - except the never opened can of SPAMALOT that was a gift.
