Looking for a physical calendar
« on: July 03, 2015, 10:15:08 pm »
Background: I dob't use physical calendars much, but my SO had one on the wall from her work. She works at a pretty new-agey kind of place, and the calendar included holidays from many faiths, including Wicca, Buddhism, and Ba'hai.

My SO's sister is a fucking crazy Christian, and when she was visiting recently she took it upon herself to defile all non-Christian/Jewish holidays on the calendar, including some Catholic ones for whatever reason. Like I said, I don't really use calendars, so this isn't a big, practical issue for me,but, as a Celt, when October roles around, I'm not going to feel super comfortable having Samhain labeled as "pathetic filth" in my home.

That said: Does anyone know of any calendars that just have, every fucking holiday on them? I want to replace this calendar with one that is ten times more inclusive! If Hellenics, Kemetics, Asatru, Shinto, or any other faiths are celebrating a holiday, I want to know about it. I understand if it doesn't exist, but just thought I would check.

It can exist if you can make it. There are lots of programmes for calendar making on line, get some world religion/mythology books and either find , take or draw some suitable pictures and voila!  You will be the most festive-centric person in your city! Besides, if you make it yourself , you can give some added weight to those days that *you* feel are extra special.

And either change the locks or put away things that are dear to you when 'Our Lady of Religious Entitlement' comes by. I would have been severely pissed. I mean, what if she didn't like someone's taste in art and had a go at their paintings? But I'll have a boo online as well. And here's a starter pack for knowing the dates:

Thanks for the advice and the link. And yeah, if she comes over again, I'll be a little more careful with stuff around the house. I had put my shrine away to avoid the hassle, but I didn't even think of the calendar since I never use it.

Someone sent me this link not too long ago and they have something along those lines:  http://www.interfaithmarketplace.com/   I haven't taken the time to see what's included, but it might be a starting place.

That actually looks pretty cool, though I'm not sure that I care for it having Scientologist holidays on it. Maybe it's intolerant of me, but I have deep political, social, and philosophical issues with them -_-

Everyone has their limits.  Hopefully you'll be able to find what you're looking for.

Well you're in luck, 'cause here's a list!

You can probably add to the list any date when either Cruise or Travolta releases a new film.
