Where is the 'replies' button?
« on: June 02, 2019, 01:38:35 am »
So, there is usually a 'replies' button between the 'Unread' button and the 'logout' button.

Today, it seems to have inexplicably vanished.

Is this unique to me, or does it effect everybody?

See this post from Randall. He's tweaking things with the menu bar so some stuff is going to be disappearing and reappearing. :)

Thanks Morag, I was quite confused.

So, there is usually a 'replies' button between the 'Unread' button and the 'logout' button.

It' now under the Forum menu as "Unread Replies". I needed room for the new items items on the menu. The "Like Stats" button is also now under the "Forums" menu. A couple of new, but useful, forum view items are also in that menu "Unanswered Posts" (in the last 30 days), and "Recent Posts" (last 100 posts in reverse chronological order).

I notice as well that the rules can now be found, much more sensibly, in the 'About' dropdown menu, rather than in the now-defunct 'Extras'. The latter had been mildly irking me for ages, since it was such a non-intuitive place for them.

So it looks like you're making the menu bar much more sensible.

I hope it is more sensible -- as well as integrating all three major parts of the site into the menu bar. The menubar is also now similar on all three major parts of the website. With obvious exceptions for items that only exist/work on one part of the site. Modifying the menu on the forum has always required rewriting a lot of forum code, but there's now a (working) mod for SMF that makes it much easier.
