Author Topic: prevention of posting thread response (Read 2332 times)

I hope this is the correct place to put this. If not could one of the mods / admins please move it to a more appropriate place.

One feature I have found to be quite annoying is the action where one types out a response to a given post reply, hits submit then the reply doesn't post because someone else has entered a reply in the interum. Then you have to wait before you can hit enter again and have it post as it registered a response already.

Is there anyway to disable this feature? It becomes extremely annoying when you have to do this 4 or 5 times just to get your response posted. Especially given that the reply I am replying to would not change my reply because another has entered one at the same time.

AS far as I can tell it is either on for everyone or off for everyone. It was one of the features of SMF that most of the regulars wanted to see on the new board. However, I will mention to the authors of the mod that some people would like the ability to turn it off for their account.

Thanks. Normally it's not something I am affected / effected by or really notice until I hit that you can't post thing then it just becomes annoying.

Please don't get your hopes up for change -- I can only suggest it. The authors of the mod may not be interested in implementing such a change.

OH I understand that. It's just the first step to any change is getting someone to either look at or listen to your problem then speak to others about changing it. It may or may not get changed but at least you know someone took the time to consider it and / or pass it along to be considered. For that I thank you.
